Actually, there's a lot of other virtual curriences, see for examples: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134179.0

Yesterday 2nd popular one, Litecoin (LTC) more than doubled its value.

Thanks for the article! I didn't hear about ownCloud (or similar projects) before, I'm already reading manual (http://doc.owncloud.org/server/5.0/admin_manual/) and will be installing ownCloud on my VPS today. I had doubts about giving Google (or any other company) so much of my data (not only emails, but schedule, contacts etc.) - now I found a great solution. I love HN.

I'll check out Gunicorn, thanks for the link.

Yes, I considered Webfraction. The thing is, I want to learn how to configure everyting by myself, because (1) I like learning and (2) I thnk it will be valuable lesson and let me understand better, how server work.

I'm more interested in nginx config, but I'll definetely read docs from the link you provided.

The biggest problem I have with Python frameworks is the fact that it's hard (at least for me) to configure server and just write aplications. I came from PHP background, where you install few packages, configure apache/nginx (which is quite fast) and things just work. I'm learning python for some time now, but I still can't create working python environment... I know django basics, and use its server for developing, but I don't know how to configure nginx on my VPS so I can have multiple python webapps (my simple apps, django apps, flask etc.). Someone has good resources for that (believe me, I read a lot of tutorials)?

Maybe someone will write one someday ;).

And, as I have the chance, I want to thank you and whole GitLab team for a really great work! I'm using GL localy and I'm very pleased with it.

Is 1GB really requred for personal use? I thought about buying 256/512 VPS exclusively for GitLab, don't you think it will be enough for personal projects?

Maybe someone who has the knowledge can write tutorial about configuring GL to run on average VPS?

Well, I thought that limited access to bitcoins may result in price going up. But as I see, there is a panic on the market, so btc/usd is dropping quite fast.

I'm curious how this bug will affect bitcoin price. I'm betting it'll go up even more.

Wow, I didn't know about -S option, thanks for the tip! I know it may not be optimal assmbly code, but that's still interesting code to read.

On some slides there is shown how particular function is expressed in assembly. I know nothing about that language (I'm talking about assembly; I know c and even like it) and when I tried to find anything how to learn this I faced some problems. I don't know, where should I start, how should I start etc. Can someone point me to good resources or starting points (I prefer linux than windows if that's matters)?

(Sorry for of offtopic)

There is finite (about 25) number of accounts owned by satoshidice and every one of them starts with "1dice", so there is no dificulty in identyfing satoshidice

btw: bitcoins by default allow semi-anonymous (because all transactions are public; if you want to be anonymous you need to do some tricks) transfers.

I know that using VPN I "trust" the VPN owner, because he has all the data I send/receive. I was thinking about such setup: buy VPS (for example: linode; it would be good to buy one anonymously), setup my own VPN (openvpn) and then use some external (for example: mullvad) VPN provider. I'm not sure if it's right or more secure that regular VPN, without additional steps. Can someone comment?

I have a couple more questions: 1. how can I use Tor with VPN the most efficient/anonymous way? should I connect VPN -> Tor or Tor -> VPN? 2. Can you point me to good resources about privacy/anonimyty online and linux configuration for privacy?

Thanks for help.
