nononoxd··on Opera: Introducing native ad-blocking feature for faster browsing
Google (AdSense, chrome, android, etc.) doesn't right? Nor does Microsoft, Adobe or Apple.
nononoxd··on Opera: Introducing native ad-blocking feature for faster browsing
Yeah, right beacuse Windows, Chrome, Android don't track users /sarcasm

http://change.org is for petitions.

No, wait! I thought only grandma uses chrome and that the HN users care about freedom and use firefox/dillo/icecat/whatever. My wrong.
nononoxd··on Show HN: Kube – Social network that can't see your data
It's a decentralized social network/personal website. Has lots of features and costum themes. See more on http://hubzilla.org

The really nice thing is that you can transfer your identity to other sites without losing contacts (unlike diaspora* or GNU social). You can also keep a copy of your data on two different servers.

I'm currently using it for my photography.

I'm using https://hubzilla.site right now and it is working fine.
nononoxd··on Ask HN: What linux distro would you love to have preinstalled in your new PC?
Trisquel with lxde works fine for me.

Any good tutorial on how to deal with passwords? In a site of mine I generate a salt with UUIDv4 and generate a sha512 of the passsword+salt and store both the salt and hash. When the user authenticates I regenerate the hash and check. This is good, right? I still don't know how to deal with cookies/sessions though. And have no idea how basic http auth works.

I'd search myself but I'm afraid to find a "bad" tutorial.

nononoxd··on Why ads are a problem
I know. But I'd like to have an internet with donations, not ads.
nononoxd··on Why ads are a problem
How many of you do actually donate?
