nnnnni··on Piccolo, a tiny CNC bot
I wonder if a 3d printer hot end could be added to this thing? It'd be the perfect (ie cost-effective) way to print small figures (eg minis for wargames)!
nnnnni··on Pinpointing the Moments “The Simpsons” became less Cromulent
I consider the movie to be the end of the series, but it was definitely going downhill before that point -- looking back on it after reading this article, I would have to agree with his findings. Homer vs NY was the last good one.
nnnnni··on Reddit Acquires Alien Blue, the Most Popular Unofficial Reddit App
Better yet, have something that looks like this at the top of the subreddit view:

[ Sidebar > ]

When the user clicks it, Alien Blue would show the sidebar. The sidebar view would have this at the top to make it easy to return to the post view:

nnnnni··on Tilde.Club: I had a couple drinks and woke up with 1,000 nerds
Helicopter had "hold to increase elevation" rather than "tap to fly up"... and was a MUCH better game for it.
nnnnni··on Qubes – Secure Desktop OS Using Security by Compartmentalization
So... my question is: How does this work with things like games or other hardware-acceleration-intensive programs?

If there's no performance loss, great.

nnnnni··on Microsoft Xim
Yup. But no one says "Bing it"...
nnnnni··on I come to bury IAmCarbonatedMilk.com, not to praise it (2002)
Cricket isn't very well known in the northwestern hemisphere.
nnnnni··on Shapecatcher: Draw the Unicode character you want
Yeah, I just tried it with the inverted question mark (¿) and interrobang (‽) -- both attempts had the correct glyph for the first result.

Maybe we're training it?

nnnnni··on Shapecatcher: Draw the Unicode character you want
What do you think of nciku.com?
nnnnni··on Shapecatcher: Draw the Unicode character you want
It'd be nice to take credit, but it's not my page =-)
nnnnni··on Shapecatcher: Draw the Unicode character you want
Yeah, it seems like they're taking the drawing and matching the edges and points up with edges and points in a font file. Hopefully they'll start weighing by frequency and add more glyphs soon!
nnnnni··on Shapecatcher: Draw the Unicode character you want
It doesn't support every unicode character yet, but it's getting there. For example, it recognized the Kannada character ttha (ಠ), but it doesn't know the poop (💩) character.
nnnnni··on An Australian researcher has worked out how to store 1000TB on a CD
That's because it's often really "startup news" =-(
nnnnni··on CUPS 2.0
"Submit a patch."
nnnnni··on CUPS 2.0
I know exactly what you're talking about. I have to deal with a lot of the "I have to print email to read it!" mentality at work. We started to track the printing and discovered that a building of approximately 1300 users was printing 100000 pages a month. The worst part is that every user has at least two devices (computer and phone, sometimes tablet) and access to the full Google Apps.
nnnnni··on Google Classroom
Things like Windows Server (required for SCCM, I believe), Jamf Casper, and FileWave all cost money.
nnnnni··on Microsoft’s Cube debuts at Decibel, creating a one-of-a-kind digital dance party
"We're really shy unless we're singingly horribly or stomping on a pad in front of people!"

It's funny how that works.

nnnnni··on Food Babe’s Ingredient Attacks Draw ‘Quackmail’ Backlash
She's the food equivalent of Jenny McCarthy...
nnnnni··on iPhone 6 Plus bending in pockets
Hopefully no one will downvote you for this comment.

Tighter pants would lead to more force being exerted from multiple angles.

nnnnni··on iPhone 6 Plus bending in pockets
I suppose that the pants' tightness would also be a factor. Roomier pants would theoretically be less likely to bend a phone than hipster-tight pants.
nnnnni··on iOS 8 Adoption at 46% After Five Days
In the interest of accuracy, iOS 8 is being forced on people through programs that require iOS 8. However, the historical trend has been to support up to two versions behind unless the program relies on something that is not available in the older versions.
nnnnni··on iOS 8 Adoption at 46% After Five Days
I suspect that there are quite a few people like myself who are waiting for a jailbreak to be released before upgrading.
nnnnni··on iOS 8 Adoption at 46% After Five Days
Just in case someone doesn't realize it, "Wave" is a joke/troll...
nnnnni··on The Cargo Cult of Game Mechanics
Yeah, exactly. I have more fun making the character that I choose the best it can be relative to its starting state, not every other character in the game.
nnnnni··on Chromeos-apk – Run Android APKs on Chrome OS, OS X, Linux and Windows
I guess that "works" just means "starts".

That's like a winedb entry that says "game works" followed by "crashes after intro video"!

nnnnni··on Fake name generator for social media
Yeah, the only one that I know is my friend Adolph Mussolini Stalin. He always gets weird looks for some reason.
nnnnni··on Apple’s “warrant canary” disappears
Well, Apple does basically have enough money to buy the entire US Government...
nnnnni··on Artificial sweeteners linked to glucose intolerance
Well, except for the mouth cancer...
nnnnni··on Tim Cook on iMessage Security: It’s Encrypted, and We Don’t Have a Key
My phone certain did not automatically download Songs of Innocence. For those users whose phones DID automatically download it, they must have enabled the "automatically add purchased content to this phone" feature.

According to my research, Apple has NEVER used the "kill switch", unlike Google: 'Google also possesses a remote "kill switch" for Android apps, but unlike Apple, it has made use of the feature before. In 2010 the Android security team deleted two apps created by a security researcher after they "misrepresented their purpose in order to encourage user downloads." Its kill switch is referred to by the company as the "Remote Application Removal Feature.' [1]

Probably not... otherwise it'd be much more "well-known"
