Very nice.. excellent job on making the copy easy to understand. Would love to link to this project in my ongoing collection of cool blockchain stuff.

nnn1234··on Ask HN: How can felons find programming jobs?
70Mjobs was created to solve exactly this issue . Don't know how useful they have been. But might be worth a try
nnn1234··on Put an end to GitHub graveyards – Find a sales partner for your project
this is actualy a very interesting idea. Ghost engine and Salesory type outsourced selling but based on projects. If you get the incentive design right it could be huge. Also I volunteer to be your first user from the sales side.
nnn1234··on Ask HN: What is the most secure way to host a form-driven website for an ICO
Working on very similar things.

What information would you like to capture per user/ project

What happens when people want to do airdrops/ private placements

Look at what harbor is doing, Would love to chat in detail. Naveen@standardmeta.com

nnn1234··on Investors getting return on Capital prior to exit?
As others have said, this deal is not standard. If you have other options go for them. If you want to stay at the table here is a counter for 1M investment negotiated equity 3 yr term every time they get a distribution, their equity goes down by a similar % such that at the end of three years they dont have any equity.

or just negotiate a better deal.

nnn1234··on Ask HN: I have a job; should I still go on Patreon for free open-source stuff?
yes. It depends more about the value you/your work brings to the world. If you are creating value , you should be able to monetize a part of it. Mind you, you might realize that the marktet value of your end product is not in line with your own valuation of it. BUt go ahead. More power to you
nnn1234··on Ask HN: How does consensus work in an enterprise blockchain?
The goal would be to enable co opetition. Think of patent pools, the incentive usually is to own the patent and enforce it, inside of patent pools however , the goal is to get to application. So a collection of non trusting entities can have a shared ledger of record.

That most certainly is the pull, which Enterprise blockchain cos sell as simplified back office.

Will it work like that in production ? No clue

nnn1234··on How do to an ICO if you have a startup idea?
Don't. If the idea is soldi enough, I would suggest a RegA+ offering
nnn1234··on Ask HN: How would you design a social network today?
paid network user owned data fixes most problems
nnn1234··on How would you use this domain name?
Heck of way to get free ideas. One way could be just what the name suggests(not urban dictionary meaning)

Have a random blog post from a list of authors + rev share with the author

nnn1234··on Ask HN: Help us find a name for our startup?
plaonics? Dialectic? if you are feeling cheeky cacaphony
nnn1234··on Ask HN: How much did you sell your startup for?
Q is what do you want to do with the site. If you think in your heart of hearts, you want to grow it, get that offer in writing and raise a seed round , or ask the guy to be an angel.

If you do want to sell it, ask your buyer how they came to that conclusion. $5/user is okay but on the low side if you are monetizing per user

nnn1234··on Ask HN: Best way to search and collect platform-agnostic podcast links?
libsyn
nnn1234··on Ask HN: Is a cryptocurrency for funding community projects a viable idea?
You should look up the DAO which attempted to do similar things.

Incentive for trading the token is something to be vary of. Political and governance problems are the issue here. Tech is here

nnn1234··on Ask HN: What does a blockchain give you that a database doesn't?
if we are talking public blockchains, Immutablity, decentralized trust and censorship resistance

Private blockchains can be anything the owner wants them to be.

nnn1234··on Ask HN: How did you find projects to contribute to that were not your own?
Crowdraising.co
nnn1234··on Ask HN: Can remote workers be more than just individual contributors?
Collaboration cost and incentive mis alignment. I.e. how do you reward or figure out success

Trust is the biggest factor, easier to trust token work to be done by remote team, how do you get to a remote control founder?

nnn1234··on Ask HN: How important is choosing a target market?
Call it target marketing or a better customer profile. Finding people willing to pay more always helps
nnn1234··on Ask HN: Tech podcasts in India
I am starting a podcast about incentives and this effort can coincide with that. If you have a list of ideas or deals that we can talk about India specific, lets try to record an episode and see what happens.
nnn1234··on Ask HN: Tech podcasts in India
Maybe we can start one?
nnn1234··on Ask HN: When will cryptocurrencies be currency?
I saw a popup store at a local flea market with "pay with Bitcoin" sign. Use and knowledge can be increased with improved access and merchant use
nnn1234··on Ask HN: How did you create a website for your startup?
Landing page app Depends on what the idea is, you can start with a mailing list, i.e. a list of customers.
nnn1234··on Is chat combined with local jobs the next level for locality?
Excellent Idea. I played around with implementing a similar thing with mattermost. I would say go higher up in the food chain. and put listings from remote job sites as well.

If you dont mind me asking, can you go deeper into your thinking about targeting local and entry level vs higher price and remote jobs

nnn1234··on Ask HN: Why does academia still publish in for-profit journals?
Great point by detaro. Issue is convincing the ivy league or some league of universities to adopt open public standards. Better yet make a taxes being used unfairly argument to make a law that every instituion that takes public money has to open access their work.
nnn1234··on Ask HN: Business that should not scale
Think of trust proxies or an external dependant factor like geographies An example A paid Meetup group or a dating app for within a city. These work better at smaller scale than large.

The opportunity is where someone or something causes a change in the underlying restriction such that an infrastructure can be built at scale. So the answer to your question depends on time and tech

nnn1234··on Ask HN: Who's running a profitable newsletter?
Stratechery? Ben's monetisation is the newsletter
nnn1234··on Ask HN: HN like website for Mathematics?
Stack overflow with more fluid discussions could the answer. With a wiki it would be even more accessible and lively
nnn1234··on Ask HN: Do you have a business idea? Why haven't you tried it?
Let the world work for you.

My approximation for a solution is Crowdraising

nnn1234··on Ask HN: Are marketplaces dead as a fundable business model?
no
nnn1234··on Productivity in Indian Startups
Per your Question,Yes there is a difference.Ownership and Control of direction are controlled by the startup and not a service providers "client".

Here is a better metric( which you hinted at ) compare number of users per employee and proximity to the employee.

something does have to change, we need to build AOL,PAYPAL and Nokia ( there are analogues with Reliance, eztap,Micromax )

I would say let the top line solve topline problems, we need better bottom line solutions if we are to do any country by country comp
