And coming from a Toyota Avensis, the suspension in the Y is way way better.
https://thedriven.io/2023/04/27/tesla-model-3-total-cost-of-...
And the Model Y is cheaper than the Toyota Rav4 which is in the same category. So cheaper purchase price, and no annual oil changes, cheap miles (at least over in Finland where gas is 2e/liter, 8.14usd/gallon and electricity is around 10euro cents/kwh).
Two examples from this week. Formatting dates in javascript, I had a datetime string and I wanted to show it as YY-MM-DD HH:MM for our internal tool. I don't know by heart exactly what to in this case although it's far from rocket science, so now I could write a comment what I wanted done and copilot coded it for me.
Same when I wanted a request to become a file download for the user, not something I've done many times before, and I could kinda reason that it probably needs the header to be set to something. And googling for this didn't give good results, yo need the right language, framework etc. With copilot I just wrote the comment // return file as download, and co-pilot wrote the code to set the header and send the bytes. Amazing!
I had ChatGPT come up with the name, some unique selling points and have it fill in all text (with human editing, removing unnecessary text, to make it all fit well). All images are made with MidJourney. However, the logo is done manually in Photoshop, couldn't get any decent results from MidJourney.
This took around 5 hours to make, most time spent on laying out the website to look decent on desktop and mobile.
Hope you enjoy it!
Not really sure about the hyperloop / train thingy, need to read up more on it.
And BD's robot is not a commercial reality, how many have sold (if we're talking about Atlas and not the dog)? The Cybertruck will start production next year, sure it's behind initial time-schedule but it will be produced and sold in high numbers.
This was amazing by this with the short time it's been in development, and the vision for this project is beyond anything that has been done with humanoid robots. Sure they might fail, but it's an exciting venture to follow.
If Russia was such a good guy in this scenario they would allow for freedom of press and speech. And they'd provide evidence everyone could back up.
No country is perfect, also the document you shared was post Russia's first aggressions to annex Crimea, and you blame Ukraine? I don't doubt Ukrainians have done war crimes as well, it happens when you're at war. But it wouldn't have happened if Russia just let Ukraine alone to develop, it was doing pretty good compared to Russia before all of this.
Decent to do more than a billion in profit and they are a growth company with Giga Austin and Giga Berlin opening soon. When amazon had a similar market cap they did around 800m in profit. It's ofcourse easy in retrospect to say that amazon was a winner, but of course it was an unknown to investors and everyone placed their bets back then.
And my point with subsidies is that they affect the outcome, as they exist they have an effect on the business, and should be valued as such.
When it comes to raising cash, things change, I remember once cash raise happened immediately after their value had increased much in a short interval, so it made sense to raise. And looking back, with the company being worth 666B now, they've done a lot of right calls, but of course some wrong ones as well.
And it's a myth that Tesla doesn't do any profit. For example last quarter Tesla got around 354M in regulatory credits (this is what the anti-tesla crowd likes to point out) but the net income was 1.14B. And besides the regulatory credit should be counted, not like the oil industry hasn't had it's insane amount of subsides over the years.
I have been following it closely since 2012. Not sure where he flushed the money down the toilet? And with that he still grew the company well. Without Elon Tesla would never have become the 666B company that is today.
> Since Musk, another 4 private companies have reached orbit, or will reach orbit this year (Firefly, Rocket Lab, Relativity Space, and Virgin Orbit)
Rocket Lab was founded in 2006 and reached orbit in 2018 (and failed in 2020)?
Virgin Orbit's vehicle LauncherOne was started in 2007 (under Virgin Galactic) began operations in 2021.
And we'll see how Firefly and Relativity Space succeeds with their launches.
I'm also heavily invested in Tesla, have been for years I like this alot, it's an exciting future to work towards. Will it take longer than elon says? Probably. But as long as you're moving towards the goal, it's great, one day you'll be there.
I also think building a humanoid robot can interest a lot of talent, and while building this robot they'll learn a lot that can be applied elsewhere.
There's way too much negativity here and way too few exciting product announcements these days, so I loved every part of this.
And if I absolutely had to use Lua, wouldn't Defold be a better alternative. At Least for mobile.
