ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: Thoughts on Only allowing login by OAuth
yes, you are right. I am thinking of adding my own implementation. Thanks for your input, it was useful.
ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: Thoughts on Only allowing login by OAuth
to be honest, even i think i should add my own login process but that will require me to write the code/add reset password link and manage the information. this is not a tricky part (2-3 days of efforts) but i need to setup my mail on server to enable sending mails. i am looking for API to send mails.

Thanks for your input

ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: Thoughts on Only allowing login by OAuth
it requires the login as i am collecting user data.
ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: How do you know if an idea is worth running with?
I am in the same phase, i have 1 idea which "I" think is good one but not sure if there is really need for that. So i am basically putting my efforts without keeping much expectations from it but giving my 100%. You have to try it to find out if its successful, idea may be great but implementation of it will decide the success. Keep on looking for inspirations, i came across site where they are selling tickets to marriages, i mean really? i visited the site and there were listing available.

So try it and find out yourself, worst case it wont be hit/successful but by that time you would have learned so many things.

ninadmhatre··on Code copy paste caution
is this suppose to be a catchy title? I did not understand your reason for title after reading the post? was that user from India? anyways you can find people making (silly) mistakes all over world...
ninadmhatre··on Show HN: Python Module Update Checker (WebApp)
I need to fix the top header - make it consistent!

for sorting, i gave 2 button at the top which will show/hide upto date/older versions but i guess that makes sense to put older/mismatched versions on top!

requirements.txt from github, that`s an excellent suggestion will implement that.

Initially i thought of creating PyPi module and i created one but its python3 specific, i am yet to make it python2 compatible considering lot of users are still on py2.

BTW you can use POST query to get the output from command line in json format :)

@allanderek, thanks for all your suggestions!

ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: DB Hosting Choice
Thanks for the reply and tips, but my question was on more of choosing self or managed hosting?
ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: Is this a Python bug?
I dont have access to python 3.5 but i tried above code with some modifications and it worked!

1. `while True` has no break condition and that intentional but `mt.join()` basically waits till all threads are completed? are you looking thread that keeps on running? i suggest look at daemon thread? if yes, check this https://pymotw.com/2/threading/#daemon-vs-non-daemon-threads

2. `return` & `yield from None` are not required! I had commented those lines, also 'from' is a reserved keyword

ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: What's the Different Between a Senior and a Regular Developer?
I don't think there will be perfect answer for this, but i will give it a try.

A senior dev is someone who should have good (hands-on) experience and can give hints/inputs on the way junior/new developer should write the code. you can even become senior by staying in 1 company for long time without learning anything new in terms of tech, so sometimes junior/new dev knows more than senior person. good environment should have mix of talented and average developers that way they all will learn.

or sometimes its just a title (in some orgs. a fresher right out of college is given sr. analyst title :) )

ninadmhatre··on Ask HN: Your thoughts about online developer recruitment tools like HackerRank?
I could not attempt 1 challenge out of 4 because i didnt get the question, and needed more information maybe another sample data? I was struggling for 30+ mins to understand the question but couldn't get any clues. I could not complete last challenge because of not understanding the question/pattern of question (maybe its my fault but a hint or 2 would have helped) rather than my coding ability. Maybe you can (as you work there) add 1 or 2 (optional) hints & make at least 2 samples of test data for tough questions. Anyways, it was a different and nice experience!
