I’m Nick, author of Deeb Dive, a weekly roundup for indie devs. Issue #3 highlights a Git-based SemVer tool (Doxxer), a tiny React hooks toolkit (light-hooks), and a short guide to kick starting a custom Chat GPT client with Tauri. Happy to answer questions about any of these tools or the Tauri + Rust → mobile workflow.

Got a tool that can be featured? Hit me up!

I wrote a step-by-step tutorial showing how to build a local ChatGPT-style desktop app using Tauri (UI) and Deeb (embedded JSON persistence). The guide covers:

- bootstrapping a Tauri + React app - adding Tailwind + DaisyUI for quick UI - modeling and persisting chat messages with Deeb - wiring Tauri commands for saving messages and calling OpenAI

Why this approach: keep conversations local, avoid vendor lock-in, and learn Rust + desktop dev. The post includes a full example and a repo with source code.

Happy to answer questions about the architecture, persistence choices, streaming implementation, or packaging for Linux/Windows/macOS.

Hey HN! It’s time for the second issue of Deeb Dive, a weekly dispatch showcasing tools that indie devs and solo hackers will love. In this issue:

-Tool of the Week — Wrkflw: A TUI to run and debug GitHub Actions locally (no push required). Great for workflow validation and catching bugs early.

- Package Spotlight — VelvetIO: A Rust input parser for building elegant CLI forms—think type-safe validation, zero deps, and fully-form-enabled.

- Dive Deeper: Featuring a new “Deeb CLI Starter” repo that gives you a ready-made Rust CLI with instant data persistence, using Deeb for storage.

If you’re building small tools or just enjoy discovering clever developer utilities, check it out. Would love to hear your thoughts—or what tools are making you smile this week.
