ng-user··on Ask HN: fastest mac today: iMac or MacBook Pro?
Comparing a laptop vs. a desktop? Which do you need? I've got no idea what your specifics are or whether you'll be permanently stationed at a desk or if you'll be working on the subway 24/7.. the current state of this post provides very little beneficial information for the HN community.
ng-user··on Where will UX Design be in 5 years?
I wonder what devices will come in the next 5 years that require significantly new developments in UX.
ng-user··on Ask HN: What's your most profitable side project?
Have you thought about a free version with ads?
ng-user··on To fix L.A.'s traffic, we need tolls
Seriously, there are worse cities than LA. Toronto has arguably the worst traffic in North America [0]

ng-user··on New ≠ Better
Which is more sustainable? How many acres could one person possibly yield per hour?

While I agree with the headline, I don't think the video is a good example.

ng-user··on Ask HN: Why aren't there any good personal finance apps?
I'm pretty happy with YNAB, have been using it since September. People complain about having to manually add transactions but I find it helps keep you disciplined to a further extent.
ng-user··on Starting an Internet Service Provider
If you ever get the time, I'd love a written response similar to the OP detailing the contrary.
ng-user··on Ask HN: What is a problem you face at work?
This sure sounds like an interesting problem. With the likes of AI, Google's Cloud Vision[0] and hopefully many more this sort of thing can definitely become a reality in the near future.

ng-user··on Launching a new App Store today, proceeds going to ACLU
Not sure if I want to enter my private cell number on a website served over http.

Nvm, I'm sure. I don't.

ng-user··on Show HN: Remember – A progressive Todo app
Perhaps it wasn't OP's intention to make the most elegant Todo application, but rather learn a a new set of tools while creating an application (s)he's rather familiar with?

Then again I actually have no idea.

You could easily write a VERY simple Todo application with the three features you mentioned (add, edit, complete) using an HTML file and some Javascript.

At first glance, I don't suspect OP is trying to create the best Todo application of all time.

ng-user··on Ask HN: How long did it take to release your side project in 2016?
I know it's nit picky, but in the 'About' section on Financier's website the first sentence under '100% offline web app' reads "Click the button above to go the the app"... I just wanted to let you know it bugged me a little but other than that it looks very nice!
ng-user··on Ask HN: What are your greatest productivity hacks?
Pomodoro Timer
ng-user··on Ask HN: How do you choose TLD?
don't forget the Canadian's .eh

(I know it's .ca but come on)

ng-user··on Ask HN: Software Developers – Do you like your job?
This is nearly identical to what I would say, have an upvote.
ng-user··on Facebook Said to Create Censorship Tool to Get Back into China
This guy's got it.
ng-user··on Ask HN: Chrome extension to verify credibility of articles
Coincidentally I just read an article about the idea being implemented during a Hackathon at Princeton very recently [0]. Four students put together a very intelligent AI in 36 (!!) hours to verify articles posted on FB for truth, using the term AI lightly of course. They've also open sourced their project since then [1]. Obligatory chrome extension link [2].

ng-user··on Snowden: Stop Relying on Facebook for Your News
That last line is the kicker. People are ignorant to the truth and|or simply refuse to believe it for whatever reason.
ng-user··on Ask HN: How common is illegal web scraping?
Thanks for the feedback and the helpful link, I appreciate the comment!
ng-user··on Why Do Millennials Hate Groceries?
Haha my apologies, I knew it felt wrong.
ng-user··on Why Do Millennials Hate Groceries?
No kidding, millenials vs. the world is how I feel growing up this day and age.
ng-user··on Ask HN: Can you recommend free computer science uni lectures?
CS50x was great, stick with it.
ng-user··on Ask HN: How do you pass on your work when you die?
One thing I've considered too as I begin to work with more and more developers on larger projects is the good ole 'Bus Factor [0]. In short, it's determining whether or not your project can be sustained should the major contributor or 'main brain' behind the project get hit by a bus. The entire objective is to reduce the number of places the project can fail, simply by having one member pass unexpectedly. Should you steer clear of avoiding a single point of failure? Absolutely. Is it always avoidable? Absolutely not.

ng-user··on Ask HN: AirPod Security Questions
Good questions, I'm actually intrigued to see valid answers.
ng-user··on iPhone 7
> "Up to 5hr. of battery life on one charge"

How the fuck is it acceptable to completely remove the jack and replace it with this 'superior' technology?

ng-user··on Show HN: HN Chat – Minimal Hacker News Chat with User Verification
It'd be cool if it showed the number of anonymous users creepily watching the conversation too.
ng-user··on BlackBox
That's what I got from the info provided.. essentially bulk ship all of the stock you have now and then get back to producing content until you've got another worth-while batch to ship.. interesting. That's a bold move cotton, let's see how it plays out.
ng-user··on Millennials Don’t Use Credit Cards Because They Have No Money
Millennial checking in: I don't have a credit card, just got rid of overdraft on my regular bank account and have a line of credit. Once I pay off the LOC I'm never using credit again unless it's an invest that will pay itself off, ie. a (successful) business, real-estate, etc.
ng-user··on Ask HN: At what time to post an “Ask” for maximum exposure?
Piggybacking off of this, post an intriguing question and it will get a lot attention no matter the time. Often posts last for upwards of 6-8 hours assuming they're popular threads, there's a reason other's die off in 20 minutes.
ng-user··on Tell HN: We built a solar-charging wireless backup camera for your car
Really eh? That's something I couldn't of imagined. Makes sense but still surprised. Wonder if Canada will follow suit if we haven't already.
ng-user··on Show HN: A Simple JavaScript Speech Recognizer
It would be neat if there was an Open Source DB that hosted all of the 'known' words so that everyone using the tool can contribute to the growing list of vocabulary.
