Don't tell the higher ups about this stack ranking tool.

For example: any publicly traded shares.

I have had shares that are 1. force sold, 2. shares that were force split into two companies and 3. shares that are force acquired so they become another companies shares.

Big company wants to control the standard, so it publishes the standard.

I mean I wish that could do what you suggest as if they could it is the end of poverty. But how?

Sounds like a bug waiting to happen

nextts··on Everything you say to your Echo will be sent to Amazon starting on March 28
Not convinced. Are CPUs and GPUs killing it %/$ wise each year like it's 1996?

Models are killing it but that is just an "ollama run" command away.

Sell me the flash to push into a rpi and an STL to print please.

Yeah recognising some words and having a hand crafted decision tree over an LLM can go a long way to get useful shit done.

Setting a timer, calling someone, turning on a light.

But is local CPU Speech to Text really a dead end?

Nope the lack of a 1A (in practice) seems to apply squarely to Palestine
nextts··on The Alexa feature "do not send voice recordings" you enabled no longer available

nextts··on Launching RDAP; sunsetting WHOIS
Headline number trend is what matters. Yeah lots of failed projects but then lots of new projects to make up for it!
nextts··on Sunsetting Whois
It'll be a pick one problem (secrecy, control) until say the big browsers support .bit domains directly doing a lookup on the block chain.

Oh the good ol days. $10/m for slow PHP shared hosting and $150 for an SSL certificate too.

Good job he wrote that down.
nextts··on Ozempic for Sleep
If everyone gets it, no one is lucky. It becomes the new normal. It could make the world a lot worse in many ways.
nextts··on ASK HN: How to engineer a JavaScript to Python migration?
Semantics are gonna get you. Especially if they use idiomatic stuff like (!x && x == y) and rely on JS type coercion.

In this sense an LLM or hand crafted approach may win out.

Also API will likely be different.

But why is that useful? Just do what Confluence does. Read only, then click a pencil to edit.
nextts··on Career Advice in 2025
Because LLMs are dog shit. There I said it.

LLMs are not the threat right now. Mismanagement of the United States and a 2008 style recession (but without the TOGA power of the SaaS/cloud boom. AI is swimming naked financially) are the biggest threat for your career and employment in 2025.

nextts··on Show HN: I lost 15% to Congress' lag, so I built a trade-sniping tool
Apply for $1k AWS startup credits my man. You get them pretty quick (couple of days)

Why not set up an actual index fund on this strategy?

nextts··on Lemma for the Fundamental Theorem of Galois Theory
Curious too. It feels like the maths parts of programming are the hobby (proof checkers, Haskell) and the cranking out Go/JS etc is the paid bit. I studied maths but never used more than high school level at work.

We are still doing scrum-like stuff after all. And they are dragging people back to the office. Decision makers have billions at their disposal to be inefficient with.
nextts··on Career Advice in 2025
A good signal is you get pissed off with LLMs because they hinder your job. Even if you tried in earnest to use them.
nextts··on Milk Kanban
I like the idea of a "cartoon" also meaning an expired carton.
nextts··on Milk Kanban
It is not an interruption, or a new todo. That's what makes it elegant.

A bad system is a slack message once you get back to your desk.

Noice!

UX suggestion. You don't need the "as read only" save options if when you do a normal save the page tells you if it has been changed. That'll get you down to 2 menu options and make me think less.

nextts··on Sign in as anyone: Bypassing SAML SSO authentication with parser differentials
I think it is something they have to experience. Tell them if they are happy with it, give me a $10 bug bounty. Then go hack a deploy of their branch. Then tell em to keep the $10 but remember the lesson.
