netfl0··on Back pain is a problem which is badly treated
The philosophy of this approach is stress and adaptation. The adaptation is what yields the improvements in muscle, tendons, and ligaments. The adaptation does not occur without sufficient stress.

I had the same results as poster above. It’s pretty cool.

netfl0··on Medications that change who we are
Doctors are not always researchers. The mind of a good researcher is very curious. A good practitioner has to rely on heuristics for troubleshooting due to the high dimensionality of the decision space they deal with.

I remember that time. I had successfully migrate 2 systems to systemd from init. One was a production server. I felt like a genius at the time. Of course all the arch devs did all the real work :)

(I wanted the challenge of running arch in production just to learn, good times)

This is not true.

Here is the specific chart which shows 36% more protein in einkorn over modern wheat:

It also has 62% more fat.

> Very curious about what Facebook's response is to this (outside the response mentioned in the talk, which is clearly not sufficient)

i.e. what would be sufficient in your view?

Any thoughts on alternative approach they could use--what would it look like etc? Would there be any undesirable consequences of a different approach?

It’s quieter, it’s also a high-tech “stone”.

The result amazing flavor-wise. Regular bread is very bland to me now. The resulting bread seems like actual substantial food, it is hard to describe this feeling.

Another key benefit of milling your own wheat, einkorn or otherwise, is that it gets you the germ, where the mono-saturated fats are. That is the "Whole" in whole wheat. The germ spoils quickly, ~3days, so processed foods and other supermarket fare usually remove the germ which is a shame.

Einkorn has ~35% more protein, and 65% for fat than durum wheat, thats even assuming the durum wheat did not have the germ removed which is not usually the case!

The mill is great. It is much quieter than I thought it would be. Adjustable grind...

I also sift the resulting flour a bit to remove some of the bran. I have been making bread with yeast, but I am about to switch over to my own sourdough starter once it gets going.

I am not sure which reviews you are referring to. I don't put much faith in online reviews.

I started making my own bread from einkorn.

The primary reason is that I have someone in my family who has a terrible allergy to gluten. They can eat this wheat since the gluten is different in some way. This was a life-changer.

The flour is expensive so I started buying the wheat berries and I mill them myself, its really easy, and the freshly milled flour is so much better tasting than already milled.

I use this countertop stone mill: (NutriMill Harvest)

I use this bread machine: (Zojirushi Home Bakery Virtuoso)

netfl0··on Over 100 PBS local stations start streaming on YouTube TV
> It premiered on November 16, 1998, as part of the show's structural change and originally ran fifteen minutes at the end of each episode until 2009, but was then rebooted in 2017. It was designed to appeal to younger viewers and to increase ratings, which had fallen in the past decade. The segment is presented from the perspective of a three-year-old child as represented by its host, the Muppet Elmo, performed by Kevin Clash in the original series and Ryan Dillon in the 2017 reboot.

Acceptable is relative. If you think it should be illegal, that is a different discussion. I do not see how my prediction of behavior in anyway normalizes the behavior or makes any value judgement of it for that matter.

If you think expressing outrage is the most productive thing to do here, we may disagree.

Beat me to it! Very happy here as well. I also love the bang short cuts. I am actually at the point where google is clearly inferior.

I will grant that Google has a more intelligent indexing and ranking of Stack Overflow. However, DDG is making major progress there, and I rarely need to add !g

Pro tip: with the bang shortcuts, you can add them anywhere in your query, it does not need to be in the beginning of your query string.

netfl0··on How to green the world's deserts and reverse climate change – Allan Savory
Folks must not know about the simple ways we can solve our problems. Some how I had not heard about this until this year.

Any critics will likely say, well what of the methane. They need to be more curious and do more research [1].

Support your local farms who are taking this approach. One term used to describe it is regenerative agriculture [2]. If you are buying your eggs, meat, and dairy from super markets, you are likely supporting industrial and degenerative practices. Go meet your farmer, you can afford it.
