Ah I see, never thought about hiring people. I ask because I'm working on an idea too (just released beta), but doing all the work myself after my full time job. I guess doing it full time would be best case scenario, but then again getting involved with investors can be a huge pain ( used to work at a startup, it did not end well ).
I don't fully understand the business side of startups, legitimate question: When does a startup need funding? If you build an app and release it...shouldn't you somehow receive money from it (ads or whatever)? Do you need the money for advertising? Or?
Simple is beautiful. Well said! I'm sick of the recent trend in website design where it takes up the whole width, has huge images everywhere with maybe 1 line of useful text visible. And you have to scroll down all the way to get any decent amount of information. Looks pretty, but functionally it drives me crazy. Then again, it's ultra popular, so I guess I'm mostly alone. By the way, I like the site design. :)
No proof really. My last job hunt ( Nov of last year ) just came up 100% not-C++, currently doing Java work. Same thing happened a few years ago...maybe I just lived in a lame city though.
Yeah, this is true. But all places pretty much require you have prior experience. Not to mention most games these days are in Obj-c/Java. Plus game studios aren't exactly ubiquitous (least not where I'm from).
From Wikipedia: Some clinicians and scientists criticize giving genes frivolous, whimsical, or quirky names, calling it inappropriate that patients with "a serious illness or disability are told that they or their child have a mutation in a gene such as sonic hedgehog."
Okay, but as far as I can tell he changed the algorithm (recursive c++, pop/push to global array, etc) ... doesn't that kind of negate the argument unless you change it in the assembly version as well?
Correct, I see this everywhere. Apparently religion on the internets does not belong. My guess is because most tech-savvy people are of the pure scientific mind set or whatever. Disclaimer: I have not read that thread, opinion based on parents description.
