nej··on Unfolding The Box - CSS 3D Transforms in the Box Model
This is beautiful, great job.
nej··on Show HN: I mapped US medical prices. Save thousands by driving a few miles
These procedures look a lot more frightening when they're written in all capital letters. If this is bothersome for you too, it's an easy fix in javascript. If it were any other element I would have said CSS, but text-transform:capitalize doesn't apply when applied to select tags. Here's how to do it in JS: http://pastebin.com/cnVJwds1
nej··on Show HN: My girlfriend needed a Secret Santa web app, so I built her one
This is cool but using Ghostery plugin on Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ghostery/mlomiejdf...) reveals 16 different javascript trackers and advertising libraries used on this website. I know in the footer it states "Memo from Santa does not store e-mail addresses. We will not send you e-mails apart from the event e-mail, nor will we use your e-mail address for any other purpose." but as this being a free service it's kind of worrying. Should I be worried about giving the emails of all my relatives and friends?
nej··on Sex over distance using affordable consumer teledildonic robots
Reminds of the sex scene from the movie Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone and Sandra Bullock. Here's the link to the particular scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k80UQWWUIYs [May be nsfw]
nej··on Zurb Foundation 5 Released
Is clicking on Learn suppose to drop the page like this http://imgur.com/yH9OKB3? Happens on both Chrome and Firefox.
nej··on CSS text filling with water
Too much water lol
nej··on Mailchimp's pricing
Redcappi.com, though I do have connections with them. Worth a try, free to start.
nej··on Web Latency Benchmark: A new kind of browser benchmark
Getting different scores when the test is ran at different browser sizes.

3.4 when the window is sized to it's smallest size.

2.5 when it's at maximum resolution (1600x1200).

Running on OSX 10.9.

nej··on Zurb Ink: Responsive HTML Email Framework
Thank you for the clarification, it makes sense.

PS. Also Peter, thank you for starting and sending out the weekly JS, Design and HTML5 newsletters, I'm subscribed and read 'em all, very resourceful.

nej··on Zurb Ink: Responsive HTML Email Framework
I see, thanks for the quick reply. Currently using Email on Acid for verifications and testing, maybe will move onto Litmus at a later stage. Thanks!
nej··on Zurb Ink: Responsive HTML Email Framework
You being a Co-Founder of Mailgun, I know you have a way stronger background in sending emails than I do (almost non existent), but I thought they (Other ESPs [Exact Target, Responsys, Etc.]) debunked the idea that using phrases like "Buy Now!!!" or multiple exclamations marks increases the chance of an email getting marked as spam. Can you please clarify? I'm interested to see if this still applies. Thanks.
nej··on Webdesign tool Macaw raises $275k on Kickstarter, $200k more than original goal
Curious if all the output code is arranged in absolute positioning.
nej··on Show HN: Having fun with my portfolio.
Not sure if this was intentional but http://www.dougkoellmer.com/ throws a "Error: NOT_FOUND"
nej··on Poll: What's your opinion on flat design?
There is good flat design and there are also bad implementations of it. Here is a collection of well done flat designs: http://fltdsgn.com/
nej··on My Internship Experience as a 13-Year-Old
I was thinking on the same page as you but realized, if I had been introduced the concept of programming and picking up a project to do at that age I would've done it. I mean, I didn't miss out too much since I started programming when I was 14, but I can't imagine that I wouldn't have had as much interest at the age of 12 as I did when I was 14. I guess it all just matters what kind of environment you are surrounded in at those ages.
nej··on FastMail staff purchase the business from Opera
I can't speak for Opera but if you take a look at their latest browser in iOS (only available for the iPad) it will give you some hope in the direction Opera is going. The browser, "Coast" as they call it is a pretty nifty, well crafted and thought out browser.

My guess is they're trying going for a niche product and are focusing on what's important to them rather than try to get their feet wet in every market.

nej··on SteamMachines
I'm very excited about this. Go Valve!
nej··on Confusing UI in iOS7
iOS 5 I miss you so. iOS 6 brought in skeuomorphism on steroids. And now iOS 7 removed all the skeuomorphism. I miss the balance in iOS 5.
nej··on New iOS 7 designs vs Android
There's a better symmetry of colors in the Vine app for Android than the iOS variant.
nej··on jor1k: OR1000 Javascript Emulator Running Linux
'rm -rf *'
nej··on No more CSS and HTML, just JS
I think the only benefit that comes with this library is job security lol
nej··on Semantic UI – A language for sharing UI
Yes, this EXACTLY. We need CSS libraries that encourage the use of new HTML5 tags. We're no longer living in a world of scrambled DIVs, we have a page structure to follow now. I feel as if this may even be a step backwards, just the third example code in which the Bootstrap version has button while the semantic version is a DIV makes no sense, it's a button, not a DIV.
nej··on Happy Programmers' Day
Programmers' Day lands on Friday the 13th hmmmm...
nej··on Duck Duck Go is blowing up again
DDG has improved immensely with their search results though I still go on Google to search people by their names.
nej··on Show HN: Email Marketing with RedCappi - Redesigned with a focus on simplicity
Hey guys we just redesigned our email marketing website from scratch with a big focus on simplicity. Interested in knowing what you guys think. Some questions that may come are, what's the difference between RedCappi and the other guys? Well for one, RedCappi is not as expensive as the other guys and the process of creating an email campaign is a lot more straightforward as well.
nej··on Ask HN: What do you think about the design of my website?
Thanks for the suggestions Vukmir. I'll see how I can incorporate some of the mentioned ideas on the website.
nej··on Ask HN: What do you think about the design of my website?
Thank you for your feedback Michael. I will definetely implement the improvements you've mentioned.
nej··on Show HN: Formbuilder.js
Yay a backbone.js article! No hate on Angular.js but that's mainly what I've been seeing on HN lately. I miss the Ember.js, Knockout.js, etc.js articles.
nej··on Ask HN: What do you think about the design of my website?
Here's the design for my new website. The stars fade in one by one in a and they continue to fade in and out in a subtle fashion. The clouds also go left to right continuously. All animations, the stars and clouds are done using CSS, the only JavaScript used is starting the position of the clouds and the number of stars, which is dynamic per your screens resolution + random positions throughout the screen. Thanks!
nej··on Client-side full text search in CSS
If you are generating the HTML on the client side then your overall data transfer would be the same.
