nawazdhandala··on Twitter Killing Its Mac App
Chrome + (Windows / Mac / Ubuntu) should let users dock any "Web App". That would enable new possibilities. No one would ever write an app specifically for mac / windows.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, our website is on a repo here : https://github.com/cloudboost/home. PR's are a LOT appreciated. Please also feel free to write me anytime at nawaz [at] cloudboost [dot] io

"Today, apps need many data stores - from database to search index, to cache and more. Our AI algorithm learns about your app and auto configures these for you so we don't have to which saves 50% or more of your time."
nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost – Open-Source Parse, Firebase and Algolia Combined into One
I completely agree. :)
nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost – Open-Source Parse, Firebase and Algolia Combined into One
I'm sorry, I forgot to address that. Yes, tests are actually here : https://github.com/cloudboost/javascriptsdk

I know that's stupid. We'll move it to the parent repo.

Let me know if this helps.

Great idea! :) We'll get the docs updated. :)

You're right. Their API looks awfully similar to ES though.

Disclosure: I'm Nawaz from the CloudBoost team.

- Yes, it does bundle frameworks but more importantly, it bundles databases like Mongo, Elastic, Redis etc. The idea is we completely abstract databases away from you and give you an API which does everything. We handle the rest like data sync between these databases, managing databases, scaling, etc.

- We're on a "Pay as you go pricing". Let me know your thoughts on this.

- I completely agree, we dont have a release strategy and we need to work on it. You'll see GitHub releases every week within few weeks from now. Thank you for the feedback.

- We have a Docker implementation which will make your sign up process easier. Please check : https://github.com/cloudboost/docker

- One of the visions of the product is to learn how your app uses the service and how your app queries the db - and auto optimize data between databases, so you never have to think about storing your data in different types of databases ever again.

nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost – Open-Source Parse, Firebase and Algolia Combined into One
I'm Nawaz from CloudBoost. 100% agree. The idea was when you reach a $99 plan, we install CloudBoost on your own Cloud. But a pay as you go service makes a lot more sense. If you want to install the service on your own machine, you can always check out our enterprise / open source options.

Thank you for your feedback again. This helped a lot.

nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost – Open-Source Parse, Firebase and Algolia Combined into One
It said "Checkout the world's most popular apps built on CloudBoost" before. We just fixed it.

This is fixed. Thank you again for your feedback.

Disclosure: I'm from CloudBoost team.

I think Deepstream does Realtime and CloudBoost does a lot more - like Search, ACL's, RealTime, BLOB, JSON, and a whole lot more. You can also check out : https://cloudboost.io/compare

nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost – Open-Source Parse, Firebase and Algolia Combined into One
Thank you for pointing this out. Yes, we're working on making our API's comparable with Algolia. We've implemented basic search now and are working on advanced search API's.
nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost – Open-Source Parse, Firebase and Algolia Combined into One
We currently use MongoDB Search for search, but are planning to integrate ES in about a month from now to make your search much better and faster. Let me know if this helps.
nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost – Open-Source Parse, Firebase and Algolia Combined into One
Algolia is technically an ElasticSearch wrapper. We are too. :)

Founder here. Thank you for your feedback. I'll get this fixed ASAP. :)
nawazdhandala··on Facebook is closing Parse
... or use an open source BaaS which can be self hosted or managed like CloudBoost.io
nawazdhandala··on Facebook is closing Parse
I would not tie myself to a Cloud Platform but use open source stuff like docker which can be moved between Clouds. Btw, There's CloudBoost.io which is an alternative to Parse and is both on Docker (self-hosted) or as a managed solution at CloudBoost.io
nawazdhandala··on Facebook is closing Parse
I think use an open source platform which has both self-hosted and managed as options. So when managed shuts down, You can self host it. I'm the founder of CloudBoost.io - and We're an alternative to Parse. We're both on Docker (Self-hosted) and Managed at CloudBoost.io
nawazdhandala··on CloudBoost.io – Parse and Firebase and Algolia all combined into one
I'm sorry for broken links. Let me fix this ASAP. :)
nawazdhandala··on Ask HN: What database should I use, and how should I choose?
I'm the founder at CloudBoost.io and we've built a NoSQL database service that does everything which you've listed (except for Offline Sync which we're building now).

The idea is as a developer - You don't really have to care about about "Which database you should actually store your data in?" and this is why we have machine learning service that actually learns how you store and how you query your data and figures out the database where your data should naturally belong.

As a developer, You only care about storing your data and getting your data back, and that's what we enable you to do.

Let me know if this helps, and feel free to reach out to nawaz@cloudboost.io if you need any more information / help.

nawazdhandala··on Why you should Not use MongoDB for your app?
Transactions :)
nawazdhandala··on Show HN: CloudBoost.io: Search, Store, Sync Data with One Simple SDK
Founder here :

Value Props :

#1 - We have one API, that automatically detects how you query your data, and how you store and depending on it, We store your data into Redis, mongo, elastic search , orient db, etc.

#2 - You don't have to learn any of these, all you have to do is play around with a simple SDK.

#3 - You don't want to manage your data in multiple db's which most of the big guys do. As an indie developer you have the power of what big guys have. For ex : Stackoverflow uses Redis + ElasticSearch + SQL. We don't expect an indie to learn all of these.

#4 - Query time is theoretically fast, because we leverage multiple db's at once.

nawazdhandala··on Show HN: AI that builds data-intensive web-apps crazy fast, in days
#1 - Yes, Authentication, Emails, forms etc will be all done with ease.

#2 - We don't intend to target the dev community. We're more towards people who have no idea how web works.

#3 - You can git clone the repo and make changes either to the UI or the business logic. So, in a way you're not restricted to the product. You can make CloudBoost.io do all the mundane tasks for you - and then git clone the repo - and make changes.

We're working hard to make sure its so flexible that you wont even need to git clone the repo - but it'll take time to mature over time.

nawazdhandala··on Show HN: AI that builds data-intensive web-apps crazy fast, in days
Sorry for these mistakes. Thanks a ton for the feedback. Will update ASAP. :)
nawazdhandala··on Show HN: AI that builds data-intensive web-apps crazy fast, in days
We don't have any investors yet. We're bootstrapping for now.
nawazdhandala··on Show HN: AI that builds data-intensive web-apps crazy fast, in days
Founder here : We're a startup that uses AI to build web apps. We're planning to launch an alpha by end of feb/early march. Traditionally what people do is hire a programmer (or program themselves).A huge majority of apps these days are data-intensive and they do one or more of these things :

Send Email Authentication (fb,twitter, etc) Payments Save a form Add an entry Edit an entry. List all the entries

Most of these tasks are mundane, take a lot of time to build, test, debug, and deploy. We automate all of that for you. All you do is - drag and drop few things around and our AI engine will build an app + the UI (That'll amaze you for sure) in minutes - saving you weeks of your life. If you want to add features or pivot - Its simple, takes few minutes to edit and publish. We will not be a compelling product during our alpha, but we will mature over time (in a few months).

Let us know if this sounds exciting, If it does - signup for our alpha program at http://www.cloudboost.io /

Thanks a ton for your time. :)
