I'm a DevRel at CopilotKit and am someone curious who loves puzzles! I jumped into tech and began programming in early 2020 after a two-decade career in the transportation industry. My passion is Open-Source, Blockchain, Security, and Web3

nathan_tarbert··on Show HN: The Channels SDK – Bring Any Agent to Any Channel (Slack, MS Teams)
Hey, I'm Nathan, DevRel at CopilotKit. That is a really interesting point you are making, and we've heard it a lot. One of the reasons this is so powerful is that it uses AG-UI as the transport, which enables a lot of flexibility depending on your use case. I would love to get your feedback if you decide to give it a spin.

After hacking over a weekend, our team launched the first React MCP client, and it's really resonated. https://x.com/ataiiam/status/1898808556427874709

nathan_tarbert··on When did React start promoting Next.js and Remix?
Interesting, I was out of the loop on this one because I specifically went to the React docs for routing.
nathan_tarbert··on When did React start promoting Next.js and Remix?
I've been using Next.js for a couple of years now so I haven't been to React's website in quite some time. I was surprised that on the landing page when you come to the "Full-Stack" section and routing, they mention using Next.js or Remix. When did this happen?

Although I work at Wing, I'd like to share an article authored by Meir Elbaz (who is not associated with Wing). This article provides a guide on constructing an application and effortlessly deploying it to AWS using Winglang.
nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What is the best way to host an Express app monorepo
The code is in GitHub and I need to host the running application.
nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What is the best way to host an Express app monorepo
I have other apps hosted on Vercel but they are Next.js apps which isn't a problem because Vercel is serverless.

For this monorepo I need 2 servers running.

nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What open-source alternative is there for Canva?
I agree @brtkdotse, that's why I was curious.
nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What open-source alternative is there for Canva?
I totally understand. There are limitations with the browser-based tool like it being laggy depending on the size of the file and the ads are annoying but it gets the job done in most cases without making a big spend buying photoshop.
nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What open-source alternative is there for Canva?
Yes @mrangle I'm looking for the equivalent of Canva and I don't mind paying for it. I'm already paying for Canva pro but would prefer an open-source alternative.

I use Canva for website images, GIF creation, blog cover art etc.

nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What open-source alternative is there for Canva?
Have you looked at photopea.com for a Photoshop alternative?

It's browser-based and they have a decent free version.

Wish it was open-sourced

nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What open-source alternative is there for Canva?
Interesting, nice list.

I'm checking these out.

nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What open-source alternative is there for Canva?
Agreed @flowzai, this looks like a good option.
nathan_tarbert··on Ask HN: What open-source alternative is there for Canva?
Yes, I have searched and most of the alternatives I come across are wonky in some way. It never hurts to look again.

nathan_tarbert··on Have You Built with Preact?
Thanks for the info @smt88

I've been using React for a couple of years and tend to stick with Next.js if I have a choice.

I came across Preact and it looked to me like a simplified React component library.

Have you used Preact in production?

nathan_tarbert··on Have You Built with Preact?
If so is it worth while learning over other frameworks like Next.js?

nathan_tarbert··on Show HN: Winglang – A new cloud-oriented programming language
I looked through the docs and I don't see any async methods, is that built into inflight like this code snippet I found?

queue.setConsumer(inflight (body: str): str => { let next = counter.inc(); let key = "myfile-{next}.txt"; bucket.put(key, body); });
