I don't see human lifestream as a sphere rolling up or down but a morphing goo flow through an unstructured topology. So, extrapolating last 20 years of Elon decissions in the future is impossible because humans tend to fail with time, bodily, emotionally and cognitivelly.
n3storm··on Why are there no good dinosaur films?
Thank you. Nobody read the book? The problem with dinosaurs is the problem with Hollywood in general: lack of original ideas and good storytelling.
n3storm··on When Figma starts designing us
It should be as you say, but is not happening. I've found many artists using Divi and Elementor producing shit with premade crap blocks.
n3storm··on When Figma starts designing us
Thanks to this threads I feel less alone about how uncomfortable using figma is.
n3storm··on My home servers are not a homelab
Indeed we do. I call it the same but in a local network I bought domain. Lake backups.mylocaldomain or webs.mylocaldomain or storage.mylovaldomain or kavita.mylocaldomain

Did you try to read it aloud? Your voice instantly becomes robotic :D
n3storm··on A receipt printer cured my procrastination
Taskwarrior maybe?

In Sleek (todo.txt for linux) I can have multiple txt with multiple context inside.

On the other hand, I don't think pomodoros are strictly 25 minute sessions. I can setup any structure in my pomodoro app of choice Solanum and chain sessions.

n3storm··on A receipt printer cured my procrastination
Does anybody else feel like he has invented pomodoros and todo.txt
n3storm··on Introducing stronger dependencies on systemd
great! Do you feel is a "good" change? does using a DE with wayland feels better or different? not talking about technical advantages...
n3storm··on Introducing stronger dependencies on systemd
For all worried check out xfce. It works, is light, is customizable, has gtk responsiveness (I find Qt click and drag and drop downs odd) Only downside maybe is no Wayland support yet.
n3storm··on Imagineers defend new Walt Disney robot
Wait what? yahoo.com exists? XD
n3storm··on Critical CSS
thank you.

anybody can tell me why I got two downvotes from my question?

n3storm··on Critical CSS
Wordpress plugins and builders like Divi and Elementor has been inserting all css for every page part or component anywhere in the body for years. I hate it. But, thas this critical css means they have beeing doing it right all along?
n3storm··on Office is too slow, so Microsoft is making it load at Windows startup
OnlyOffice is not based on LibreOffice. CollaboraOffice does. jfyi
n3storm··on Office is too slow, so Microsoft is making it load at Windows startup
I was a hardcore desktop LibreOffice user both Calc and Write, but I have been using Write exclusively online through CollaboraOffice in a Nextcloud Instance and did not have any issue in two years. I know it was buggy before because I have been checked every two or three releases.
n3storm··on I wrote to the address in the GPLv2 license notice (2022)
True, any page oriented software like LibreOffice, Inkscape, Gimp, will show you US Letter sizes and US Letter Envelope sizes and you may have messed up with printing on wrong size... but as other posters say, maybe this days nobody prints on real paper anymore...
n3storm··on I thought I bought a camera, but no DJI sold me a license to use it [video]
I have been using a linux minipc with debian+xfce for more than 15 years and no regrets. Yes having a keyboard with touchpad looked like a bit cumbersome at first, but then when al tvs went smart using an onscreen keyboard with a rf mouse is a nightmare.

Homo homini lupus is the latin for "Man is wolf for man", famous quote from Plautus.

Homini is the declination of Homo, is dative case. I don't know how to properly translate dative to english, something like "to give".

I know this from Philosophy and Latin (separate) in Highschool around the nineties in Spain. They both were compulsory global subjects. I think Latin is not compulsory this days.

n3storm··on Why Do Domestic Prices Rise with Tarriffs?
London is not a representation of Europe, nor Madrid. Even Paris is completely differente. Germany was full rebuild after war. So, is Europe is a mix, but roads are not the reason to not buy tractors, is utility. Tractors are for country work.
n3storm··on Why Do Domestic Prices Rise with Tarriffs?
They are huge indeed. But is not the reason we don't buy USA cars. In the countryside yes, for years, because they are useful. Transport tools, materials, dogs...

Cities center are transitioning to no-cars, so paved historical roads is not an issue.

Europe is quite a mix also, maybe is an issue in your area, not in Spain.

n3storm··on Gmail E2E is as terrible as expected
I guess minimal gmail for e2e is the tariff we have to pay for privacy and freedom. wink.
n3storm··on Why Do Domestic Prices Rise with Tarriffs?
"Smaller older roads" XD

We don't live every family in a house miles away from work, schools and friends. Many of us live in cities, within flats, with lines of metro or bus close by. Our children go walking to schools. Roads are fine and maintained so regular vehicles can be used instead of 4x4, bikes are respected. Roads have sidewalks to walk.

n3storm··on US Administration announces 34% tariffs on China, 20% on EU
Yes please, more people spreading this information.
n3storm··on Why I run FreeBSD for my home servers (2024)
Most straitforward reason is not having multiple database server and reuse one Pgsql or Mariadb for several instances of same app.
n3storm··on Why I run FreeBSD for my home servers (2024)
I have "reversed engineered" dockerfiles in order to avoid containers. Any software should be installable without docker, it just takes more knowledge and time. Also sometimes it doesn't, there is a binary (like with go and rust and .net) or other times the long route is pip or apt and some conf fiddling. Databases are the worse part maybe but once you get it is more control for you and what you want to do with your setup. Moving database server to other dir o server? no prob. Sometimes dockerfile deploys postgresql when you can configure it for home a simple sqlite. If you end up modifying the dockerfile you understand what are the application requirements are and you can install raw.
n3storm··on How IMAP works under the hood
Jmap was developed by Fastmail, meanwhile all primary FLOSS mail servers do not support it and just new projects like Stalwart are starting to bring it up.

In fact Laravel is constantly lending stuff from Django and RoR. Like model attributes.
