The point of the project is to deal with source in multiple version control systems, and helping deal with all the cruft between version control systems.
I have been considering the same switch as well, but I definitely wouldn't if I am on my way to school. I would suggest saving your money; custom building a nice boss linux machine, or if you want drop the same amount of cash and get an epic gaming machine dual boot windows.
I would suggest to stop doing that since thats the point of virtualenv; it is a bit of pain since it doesn't put django-admin.py in path but you can always refer to it.
it just goes to show that your not trying to be malicious in your somewhat harsh statement. Sometimes there is no way to put something delicately to a complete stranger. adding the smiley is more of a way to get the reader to look at it as constructive as supposed to judgement on the person asking the question.
I find that finding which room to go is rather trivial problem. I find dealing with people in irc; would be the main problem when first trying it out and getting to learn the ropes with technical people online. Those things may be fairly obvious but they happen everyday; in every room.
I don't know what article you read. but i clearly stated that Andrew is talented and he isn't the only one at fault for this behavior. It maybe crass but its simply not targeting them for ridicule. I am simply giving my point of view on a issue that i feel could be avoided if the writer of the email were bothered enough to add a couple of humane sentences to build a rapport. As supposed generically copying everyone, in order to get developer attention. He clearly did put time into a automated message. As did I here:
That's true; it's a tool I use. I will contribute what I find interesting and believe in. Doesn't mean i am abusing it. the community will upvote what they like.
I would say yes; alot in places where security is key. These types of model are also generated when doing different types of analysis as well. Day to day use not alot but when you getting familiar with something its priceless.
If you must know the reason behind that statement, was due to the fact at where I work we use jython, java and python extensively. When I first got there I was rapid prototyping applications for the end user, based on some data that had been structured in Java. While this was available through API I had no inner understanding the objects that I was passing around in python, which you can get away with in python very easy. Which is why I think its bad to get into the habit for beginners. Understood that clutter is a bit extraneous but at the same time necessary, or least until we all move towards simpler languages like python. :)
