myliverhatesme··on Amazon's New Plan to Pay Authors Every Time Someone Turns a Page
I think the per page strategy is way too arbitrary. What is a page exactly? A unit of measurement of text? How big is a page? What font must you use. What about technical books and books with pictures and diagrams? If we invented modern electronics before books we wouldn't care about pages. Measuring time spent would be a lot more useful and harder to game. What if the book is dense with so much good information that I feel the need to read slower or reread a paragraph?
myliverhatesme··on Paperwork: An open source Evernote alternative
Nice! I've been using Evernote for a while now. I have a MacBook Pro I use for work, but I use Linux at home. After using both the web client (because that's my only option in Linux except Wine) and the native OS X client, it's clear that the Web Client is lacking.

I'm looking forward to an open source alternative.

myliverhatesme··on The problem with Angular
How did such a horribly written article with no substance or structure got so popular? This guy just explains how he "thinks" and "feels" with no supporting evidence.

One of his first points is: "I feel that Angular’s fundamental proposition blurs the line between front end and back end."

Why? I feel it makes the line clearer. So there.

After I read the entire article I was still left wondering what his point was. He concludes with discussing Angular 2.0

"The 2.0 rewrite is aimed at front-end developers, but may not reach them, and in addition will turn off Angular’s current following. I don’t think Angular will survive the rewrite."

Well, no shit. Let me get this straight: a front end framework isn't going to survive because it's targeted at front end developers? Who writes this crap?

myliverhatesme··on The present/future of AngularJS
I hate being linked to slide shows. When I saw the docs.google.com I was expecting some sort of design document or something.
myliverhatesme··on Poll: Did you “drop Dropbox”?
And at the very least "I dropped DropBox for some other reason".
myliverhatesme··on 2048 implemented in 487 bytes of C
No
myliverhatesme··on Sell your TV: you're better off without it.
Exactly. What if I download shows and then watch them on my TV? What's the difference between sitting on my couch and watching it on my TV and sitting on my office chair and watching it on my smaller computer monitor? Also, I use a Roku box, so I don't watch shit with commercials anyway.
myliverhatesme··on How I Almost Ditched ColdFusion, learned Ruby & Python & came back
This is the most worthless post I've read in a while. Why did you ditch the real programming languages again?
myliverhatesme··on How I Almost Ditched ColdFusion, learned Ruby & Python & came back
Because it was probably written in ColdFusion.
