muszc-master··on Ivelope using waiting list for Patreon solicitation
Creator of said program here, I sent this to a very tiny segment of the waiting list. People in the waiting list will still get access to the beta - as stated in the email.

With this email, I wanted to see if there were people who were really interested in the beta (which there were, at a healthy %) and to let them get early access as well as the ability to influence development and get weekly updates by joining the Patreon community. I'm sorry if you were offended by this in any way, and once again, you will still get access to the beta when it's your turn without having to become a patron.

Well, you don't have to invite anyone to join the waiting list, it is totally optional.

Since I am only one developer currently, and there will probably be bugs, I don't want thousands of people having the same bug, this is the reason I'm not releasing it right away.

Yes I have and in the latest release which I'm working on, I've included features trying with the goal of fully complying with this tool.

Indeed it was and is. My goal is to put Ivelope on that list

Thanks for your feedback!

To give some examples: quick-move folders, conversation view, feed view, one click filter-creation and newsletter/promo filter

Noted. It was a poor choice of words / trick on my part it seems.

That's a good idea, and in hindsight, you and the other commenters disliking the wording are correct. I just haven't received this feedback on the wording before, will change it!

This is what Ivelope is currently doing :) However there will be a setting for people who want to download all attachments as well.

I'm sorry if it came across as manipulative. One of the reasons for having it like this is also so it can give me a metric on who in the waiting list are most interested in the program. And of course also to offer an incentive to share it.

Oops, second typo found. (I'm not a native speaker if that's an excuse :P)

Haha "pressed to disk and posted" that was a fun remark :)

Some stuff needs to be sorted out and adapted to Linux so it might take some time before it's out on Linux. However, a lot of users has requested a Linux version which makes this a priority

I felt that email clients hasn't changed much in the last 20 years and that there is a lot of improvements that can be done in this space, please note, the features that exists now in Ivelope consists of just a small percentage of what will come...

Sounds very interesting, although Ivelope interacts a lot with the OS, and a lot of the Electron API would need to be added.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, fwd attachment priority noted

It's a pure email client! We do not have a third party server processing your emails, your data goes only directly between your computer and your email server.

That is maximum, normal is around 130 - 170 mb

Thank you!
muszc-master··on I've spent the last two years building a new email client
It will very soon, that's one of the most requested features by my current beta users
muszc-master··on I've spent the last two years building a new email client
Why is that preferred for you, may I ask, over running it as a local desktop software?
muszc-master··on I've spent the last two years building a new email client
I agree with you. The discussion has somewhat de-railed off-topic into a discussion about Electron. While that is an interesting discussion, it is pretty off-topic.

What's the features you're mostly looking forward to? I'll see what I can do :P

1) No extension architecture right now. Do you have anything in mind you'd like to build?

2) Not at the moment, but it supports multiple email accounts at once and you'll be able to move emails effortlessly between accounts in the near future.

3) Yes, it has extensive keyboard shortcut support

4) It hasn't been released for Linux yet, but once it will, I'll make sure to try to address this issue.

Doesn't support it as of yet, however it has been requested by many and is on my todolist.

Specifically the image bug, as another commenter linked to: http://seenaburns.com/debugging-electron-memory-usage/

Thank you for your feedback! If you sign up for an invite, I'll let you know once something like this is up and running.

Of course, I haven't put my focus on this yet, but it is on the todo list.
