muhehe··on Apple says iPhones will switch to USB-C chargers to comply with new EU law
Good. I was thinking about buying iphone, but this was the ultimate thing that made me not buy it.

I just hope Apple doesn't decide to screw it up somehow. Like making sure only pricey apple chargers works. Then it wouldn't matter at all.

Who is prohibiting them from replacing RJ45?
muhehe··on Replace the “very” in your sentence
Tried a few word. Mostly "not yet added". The rest reminded me that episode of friends where Joey wrote letter with thesaurus to look smart...
muhehe··on Ask HN: What's the best source code you've read?
Honestly...neurotic and counterproductive. You have to add too much useless words to make it fit. Most of these comments could be much shorter and easier to read. Also too much separators and whitespace around those comments.
muhehe··on Namecheap CEO offers $10k bounty for changing someone else's domain via helpdesk
> you'd be shocked how many people try to claim bug bounties from us because they "hacked" their own account using their own credentials.

Wait ...what? Like, seriously?

muhehe··on German digital signage ban prompts confusion
Lowering energy consumption is a neat goal, but most of these billboards should be outright banned for many other reasons.
muhehe··on The future of Nginx: Getting back to our open source roots
Would you mind to elaborate a bit more on the sophisticated configs?
muhehe··on Coping with Copilot
I've read the title as "copilot with copilot" and thought that copilot leaked some parts of itself :)
muhehe··on Show HN: A VNC viewer for eInk devices capable of 30 FPS when writing text
Maybe the apps are completely normal, but whitelisted somewhere in the system for different behaviour. Like some phone manufacturers cheat at benchmarks...
muhehe··on Show HN: A CLI to avoid remembering HTTP status codes
"There's an app for that" now coming to your terminals...!
muhehe··on JavaScript Obfuscation Techniques by Example
Why obfuscate, when you can just follow modern trends and use webpack (or similar) which gives you completely unreadable shit.
muhehe··on Show HN: Lldap, a Simplified LDAP Server
It says it only supports subset of LDAP, but it like to know what is included. Or better, what is missing.
muhehe··on Tell HN: Google deleted my spreadsheet, review request says file can't be found
aka "got another offense and now your account is closed forever"
muhehe··on Gitea – a painless self-hosted Git service
I really wonder what makes you think nextjs is better engineering choice.

(I really do want to know, I don't mean this question in any negative way.)

muhehe··on Gitea – a painless self-hosted Git service
Suggesting improvements is ok. Recommending complete rewrite in different stack and technologies is not constructive critique imo.
muhehe··on Gitea – a painless self-hosted Git service
Does it directly affect users?
muhehe··on Gitea – a painless self-hosted Git service
I'll go and say a really don't like arrogant comments like yours. Shitting on someone's work you're using for free by recommending complete rewrite in technologies you currently like is absurd. Less used framework - so what. Logic in templates - yeah not great but still, so what? Etc... Doesn't really bother anyone using it.
muhehe··on Current guidelines for sun exposure are unhealthy and unscientific – research (2019)
Many comments here say this article is bad. I thought so after reading perex saying sunscreen is racist. Can you even write article these days without calling something racist?
muhehe··on Bionic Reading – Convert Text into Better Way to Read Faster
Algorithm of this version seems brutally simple.

const mid Math.floor(preElem.length / 2); > <span className="bio-letter">{preElem.slice(0, mid)}</span>{preElem.slice(mid)}

I thought the original was more complex a nuanced than this.

muhehe··on Rustdesk – Remote desktop software, an open source TeamViewer alternative
I guess we won't agree on this. In my experience this is the sort of "good programmers don't do mistake X". Though technically possible, unreliable in reality.
muhehe··on Rustdesk – Remote desktop software, an open source TeamViewer alternative
I'd say it pretty typical prequel to "we intended to implement TLS, but then we forgot/were busy/attacked by medusas/.../had different prioritises"
muhehe··on Rustdesk – Remote desktop software, an open source TeamViewer alternative
I disagree. It means that security is an afterthought which will be "added" later to the product to check the "secure" checkbox.
muhehe··on Render mathematical expressions in Markdown On GitHub
No. I'm absolutely expecting local native app to do all the work, it makes sense. With SAAS running in the browser I expect all the heavy lifting is done somewhere else...you know, as a service.
muhehe··on Render mathematical expressions in Markdown On GitHub
Sorry, but I find this approach very rude to your customers. It's kinda your job to make it work on your side and don't transfer the burdens to clients.

I don't know what your SAAS does (maybe it's not really applicable here), but in the case of github, it's very wastefull. Yes, it would take some work, some servers, etc but they have the skill, the money and everything they need to do it. They could do it once (well, with every change, but it's not very often) on their side instead every client on every pageview will have to do the same work again and again, wasting time and energy.

muhehe··on Gov.uk drops jQuery from their front end
Web development is still a clusterfuck.
muhehe··on NaturalSpeech: End-to-end text to speech synthesis with human-level quality
If it's audiobook, then yes, it's sort of a performance and you could argue they need different licence. But with tts you basically create the audio with your own means on your device. But you still bought the book, so there is you profit. If I read a book to my child, would you want me to buy audio license?
muhehe··on Kea 3.0 – State Management via Logic Builders
I was happy there is some interesting improvement to kea DHCP server, but it's just another react library.
muhehe··on Actual is going open-source
Interesting. I never managed to get too much of data into firefly, because of API rate limiting (and was too lazy to modify the code) :)
muhehe··on Actual is going open-source
I've never heard of this, but it looks nice. Anyone can compare with firefly-iii?
