muddylemon··on Tips for selling to small business?
That looks very interesting
muddylemon··on Dear Mom and Dad ...
It would've been a lot better if he'd included even a single link.

Especially on this bit: "Tell them it’s even available on Amazon!" That would be an ideal place to link to the product page and sell the thing.

muddylemon··on Did somebody just try to buy the British government?
> In the US, the converse is true, where the Senate is more powerful than the House and Senators are considered to be more important in pretty much every way.

especially by themselves

muddylemon··on How cool is this? the 1st toolbar dedicated to business software
It does have the advantage of targeting users who are willing to install software for no good reason.
muddylemon··on View the HTML Source of subway.com; it's a marvel of modern browser technology.

muddylemon··on Using BudgetSimple instead of Mint
I tried it out - it's not a "replacement" for mint - more of a stripped down, zen version. Its one real feature is the one I want though, so i like it. All I want from a budget app is the ability to: list out what I'm expecting to spend, and show me where I f'd up this month.
muddylemon··on The fifty smartest people in tech
This is like having a list of the 50 tallest people in basketball, only less objective. Once you hit 6'8" or so, it's irrelevant.

How smart do you have to be to succeed in the tech space? Smart enough. After that it's luck, tenacity and people skills.

Of course the real point of this list is to fluff the right players to make scoring interviews and information easier in the future.

muddylemon··on Google has released a list of 1000 most-visited sites on the web
#824 stackoverflow.com - Music
muddylemon··on Lose your teeth, lose your mind
Or class - which strongly correlates with diet and smoking along with education, mental stimulation through your occupation, medical care, etc.
muddylemon··on CSV dump of reddit voting data
> Due to the way that I pulled the voting information (I actually pulled it from the cache that we use to show you liked and disliked pages, which is in Cassandra and turns out to be cheap to query), you won't get more than 1k upvotes or downvotes per user, no matter how many votes they've made, so that so many have 2k isn't surprising.
muddylemon··on Putting ask.com in perspective
If you look at the "also visited" tab - all of the sites listed are arbitrage crap.
muddylemon··on [dead]
I've been looking for a hot new web app where you enter your email address into a box. Do you have an iphone app? Sometimes I like to enter my email into a box from the road.
muddylemon··on The Voynich Manuscript Decoded?
I don't have the italian language skills to evaluate the theory, but it seems plausible. Attributing it to a young da Vinci just seems silly though. Much like how every interesting quote is attributed to Churchill, Twain and Einstein.
muddylemon··on Managing PHP Exceptions with Google Spreadsheets
Why the hell would you do that? I mean you could also write a script to post the errors to your printer, but there's no reason to do such a thing.
muddylemon··on A graphical comparison between employees, freelancers and makers.
I think the point is to make unemployed people feel superior.
muddylemon··on Cocaine Contaminates Majority of U.S.Currency
Depends on your definition of contaminate.

So Hacker News accepts ads now?
muddylemon··on Nigerian web start-ups to watch
something else to watch... your wallet. Nigerian startups have to overcome the hurdle of the assumption that any packets crossing their border are intent on defrauding you.
muddylemon··on Ask HN: what unwanted domain names are you sitting on?
genodate.com Send in a DNA sample and we'll match you to a member most unlike yours.
muddylemon··on If you accept evolution, you must oppose over-regulation of the economy
So regulation interferes with the natural process of business evolving so they can consume more resources and grow larger and more powerful. It also protects the "weaker" (smaller businesses and actual people) by giving them unnatural advantages that allow them to survive and avoid being obliterated by the stronger "more fit" organizations. Vaccines interfere with the natural process of viruses evolving into more powerful organisms and giving their competition (us) an unnatural advantage that allow us to survive and avoid being obliterated by the stronger viruses.
