Tonight was wonderful. Every year is better than the last.
Private prisons can be seen as a byproduct of over-criminalization and over-enforcement. These red light cameras are in the same world where government sees the tightening of enforcement as a valid revenue model.
East and South Texas use sauce.
I don’t find it fun to tinker with a garage door at all.
I just picked up the audio book and am listening to it now.
Is this in other cities?
I have a theory that the mainstreaming of tattoos comes from the greatest generation. They were the generation who fought the Nazis and came back with markings showing their loyalty to their country and the people they served with.
I am the same age as you. I don't remember any boomer parents with tattoos. I wonder if our kids and grandkids will keep getting tattoos or if it will fall out of fashion
I wish that there was a camera pointing to the crowd when he said the more controversial things.
I didn't know that Sussman hired Stallman. Their work changed our lives.
Oculus Rift - for the first generation, it is surprisingly comfortable.
Oculus Touch - I can see my hands and it feels natural.
Lexus es350 - great car for sitting in Houston traffic. I wish that I could pull back the steering wheel a bit more so that I could stretch out my legs, bit it is still really comfortable.
Ibanez Jem - my luthier makes fun of this guitar, but it is a dream to play. Flat neck, large fretboard. It sounds amazing.
Nest - just works. Took 5 minutes to install and it just worked
They have the talent and are in a unique position of being Twitter.
Tax revenue is used as a benefit for legalization. It feels like a flawed argument, but it still aligns with where I would like to be.
The slippery slope argument applies here too: should our freedom be tied to tax revenue? Sure, it works for some drugs. Does it work for our other inalienable rights?
Some brilliant people might also have offensive ideas. Why not have a system that allows that brilliance to shine through?
The larger problem here is that these are not communities of hobbyists. Saying something silly or having someone misinterpret what you are saying within the community could cost you your living. Crockford will be okay because he is already well established, but what if he wasn't as well established?
It was a beautiful design that was completely inappropriate for the region.
I have been looking for information on what constitutes a McMansion vs a non-McMansion and the arguments parallel the same sort of stuff that made Feng Shui so popular: there are magical rules that make things right or wrong.
Would love so see a real test done on these assumptions. If there are real rules that are being violated with these homes, then an unbiased test should be easy to put together.
I would love to see a site which gathered reviews from professional food reviewers.
Reddit is struggling for money, but they have an amazing platform to test out ideas on. Out of their millions of users one person should be able to come up with a way to monetize the platform. Google did this with their ads: the most popular ads get rewarded.
If I was a moderator and I was given a list of options to generate revenue for Reddit (and myself or my community) I would have to consider it. Maybe I have a community that reviews widgets and I can link to stores that have the best deals for highly reviewed widgets. It is transparent to the community, gives everyone a good deal, and pays for Reddit.
