Personally I think a touchpad Kindle with eink is overkill. The touchpad is nice, but I don't see why I would ever need it if I'm just casually reading. That plus I'm a sucker for slimness and the added dimensions killed it for me :)

If you can get 1 key investor or endorser, you're pretty much in. How do you get that key? Usually from networking in person, or by having stellar metrics that people can't turn down at least talking to you.
You should read more about AL. But in short, yes, you should use it. It is much easier to find investors, and if you win one over, it is easier to extend out from their personal networks as well. I'd also recommend you start reading venturehacks.com.
With facebook, individuals are one-to-one, but on G+ it is possible for them to be one-to-many.
As much as I hate to say, I'd rather use what I already have, and what all my friends have... facebook.
1) I used a Groupon at a korean restaurant in Cambridge, MA. When I went with my friend the waitress was delighted, but once I mentioned the Groupon her enthusiasm completely faded and she became much more rude.
2) I used another restaurant Groupon at a pizza place on Newbury St. in Boston, MA. Ordered the pizza but once I pulled out the Groupon she had a sour look.
I don't understand why these friggin' business do Groupon if they are just going to assholes. Argh, just reminiscing and writing about these experiences pisses me off.
If you are really that critical I would give them a month notice which is more than enough time to find a replacement. That is the best you can do. If you give them plenty of notice, they will have no reason to think you are screwing them. You'd be screwing them if you just quit and left the next day.
Honestly pg just probably invested, said good luck, and just went his own way checking up occasionally to chat. The guy has like 500 other things on his plate why would he micromanage airbnb?
It's their business, not pg's, so let them run it how they want to.
Not trying to pick a fight here but if you don't have any filming experience at all who are you to argue that this style is the best? But anyway, I hear you, and you're right, to each his own :).
One last suggestion is you switch to youtube. It's unfortunate you can't skip directly to a sections of video due to the limitations of the vimeo player.
If anything an article like this makes me lose face for techcrunch, who acts like this kind of PR tactic has never happened before.
If you don't believe me read Toxic Sludge, which is a book about the PR industry.
I know when I build I like getting the scaffold/mvp up as quickly as possible ignoring security because hey, this thing isn't out in the wild, and do my due diligence on security after I am happy with the prototype.
I did like tracking my own data, but I got annoyed that every day I would have to type the same tags again in order to do it:
M: [exercise][ate late][shower] Tu: [exericise][tv before bed] Wed: [tv before bed][shower] Th.. etc
It's maintainable after a few days but after a week or so you just get sick of typing it over and over.
The thing that really got me though is that every time you have to type in the same tags over again, you can't pick from previous tags, which got old fast.
Oh, they also never sent me back a charger after they told us to throw it out (first batches of Wakemates had faulty chargers) :(
I cannot emphasize enough how much more awesome it makes your company look when you have a streamlined recruiting process!
Ironically I also did a Show HN today (http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2344151) today as well but only got 1 point :(
I have since learned that it is the norm and possibly fact for locals to realize this area is a bit more sketchy. But like I said, I'm not from Cali!
When you work for free, you never feel obligated to deliever or perform at your best because nobody is paying you, so if you get fed up you can just leave -- why put up with the bad environment? Sure it might be fun for a week or two, but people get bored, and it is usually monetary of personal incentives that keep us going. Working for free provides neither of these. It isn't my project, nor am I getting anything in exchange.
Now I'm not saying that he will be like this, but this flipside of mentality is definitely something to consider when you hire "free" labor.
