mr_b··on Ask HN: Most successful example using LLMs in daily work/life?
This sounds very interesting. Can give more details on "whisper to transcribe and make sense of long ramblings, turning a 20 minute voice memo from a car ride into a functional plan"? The apps that you use, and the workflow.

mr_b··on Amazon Officially Announces The New Kindle Paperwhite
I convert to mobi using Calibre and mail to the amazon personal documents account (name@kindle.com). It adds WhisperSync.
mr_b··on Show HN: Just launched Crikkket, an iOS/Android web app for following The Ashes
would be good to have the option to view full scoreboard. Plus display the 1st inning scores too.
mr_b··on Ask HN: Keeping a research/work log
I just use a notebook to keep track of stuff. Evernote is one of the options you can check out.
mr_b··on Ask HN: Hacker friendly coffee shops in San Jose
The reviews for Mission City cafélook really good. Will try it out. Thanks!
mr_b··on Ask HN: Hacker friendly coffee shops in San Jose
Been to the Starbucks on Lawrence and El Camino. Bit too crowded for my liking. I somehow could never get work done in a library. Bit too quiet. :)
mr_b··on Ask HN: Hacker friendly coffee shops in San Jose
Thanks! Will try them out. My day job is in Milpitas and I live close by.
mr_b··on Ask HN: Flexible meal subscriptions coming to Bay Area soon
I would subscribe if 1. Not very expensive. Something around $10 2. Has good vegetarian options.
mr_b··on Ask HN: Posterous vs A Blog
Here what I feel. Posterous v WP blog ( hosted on a custom domain and not *.wordpress.com)

Posterous : Pros 1. Very easy to set up. 2. Easy to put up photo albums (no need for plugins etc) 3. No need for upgrading etc. Posterous does that for you.

Cons: 1. Limited customization (themes, widgets etc) 2. Cannot put up ads

mr_b··on Ask HN: Review my startup: Send Handwritten Thank You Notes to Your Customers
A good target audience would be the students (esp seniors) - sending a thank you note after an interview.
mr_b··on Ask HN: Review my startup, LitLift.com

mr_b··on Facebook Upgrades Photos: Look Out, Flickr
I think both cater to a different set of people/photos. I upload only those photos to Facebook which have a 'social' element - Birthdays, weekend trips with friends etc. But Flickr is more for photos which I click as a hobby and as a photo backup service.
mr_b··on Ask HN: Is it hard/bad to apply for jobs in cities you don't live in?
I disagree. I moved here from Indiana for a job. The company flew me over here for the interview and also paid for relocation when I moved here. Same situation for all my friends. We are new college grads, so the situation might be different.
mr_b··on Google Instant Search Released
You can use the right arrow for 'I'm feeling Lucky'.
mr_b··on Ask HN: If I gave you $20.00 US, What would you buy?
Donate to a couple of Android devs. Cyanogen and probably the dev of LauncherPro.
mr_b··on Ask HN: Three startups, but only one of me. Which one should I choose?
I would say second one because you get to apply the knowledge you have in a meaningful way.Having a mentor would be the added advantage.
mr_b··on Ask HN: What blogging site is best for me?
1.Installing wordpress on your domain is free. Use this - http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress It is very easy to set up. 2. I personally use Posterous.(http://posterous.com/) Very easy to use. Has comments too.
mr_b··on Ask HN: How do I move into software from hardware engineering
That was an awesome answer. Thanks. I did C as part of course and the rest because of interest. VLSI is mainly software driven. I have worked with Hardware descriptive languages like Verilog. As per the suggestions above, I have decided to take up an open source project and hone my software skills and then try for a job change.
mr_b··on Ask HN: How do I move into software from hardware engineering
Ya. That would probably be the best bet. Can you suggest which would be better-Ruby or Python? I have some experience with Perl.
mr_b··on Ask HN: How do I move into software from hardware engineering
Thanks! The link looks interesting. Will have a look. Now just have to find some time for programming.
