mparrett··on Squeak 6.1
I see some movement on high-DPI in the latest release. What are the current gaps? I'm not familiar with the project, just curious.

> Improves high-DPI support for buttons, scroll panes, sliders, menus, multi-selection lists, trees, drop-shadows, the scratch pad, the keyboard exerciser, and others.

Nice work! I've tinkered with this idea a bit in an unpublished project. How do you handle the singularities at the cube corners where three faces meet?

This gesture would often work for me in lucid dreams-- look away to refresh content. And when I played video games more regularly, my dreams would take on a procedurally generated quality that always struck me as more than the typical abstract dream imagery. It was as if my mind had learned a basic game engine with mechanics, physics and various rendering techniques.

That makes sense and thanks for the solution. And sorry, my comment was not written well. By "post" I meant "thread". If I write anything up I'll be sure to share with you. Congrats again, this is impressive!

I tried integrating hnswlib (header-only C) with my app and it wasn't trivial. It probably isn't necessary unless you are searching millions of vectors or have very low latency requirements.

Congrats on the launch! I appreciate the simplicity of the design and your privacy-consciousness. Purchased right away. iOS desperately needs this.

I was similarly frustrated with Photos and worked on a similar idea. My first prototype used CLIP-as-service running on MacOS which is quite fast but meant for building web services. I eventually got the concept running on iOS using CLIP via CoreML but still have some problems to solve. I've faced many of the challenges described in this post. Feel free to reach out if you want to compare notes. Best of luck!

By the way, I encountered an issue on my first load. sorry, can't send a screenshot at the moment. In the auth flow, I granted permission only for a subset of photos (about 200) and now I see "Total -1 Photos need to be indexed". So maybe there's something wrong with that case. Also, the user should be able to update permissions from settings after the first time, in case they want to allow more or less access in the future.

Thanks for the sample and discount. Nicely done! Appreciate the clean code and occasional snarky bits. :)

That sweet sound.
mparrett··on Ask HN: Computer nostalgia
There are so many good memories to choose from. The other day I played some random 4k video on YouTube. I then remembered the library computer at my elementary school. It had Encyclopedia Britannica on CD which included mindblowing minutes of video clips the size of postage stamps. MULTIMEDIA!
