Careful, you'll get scorn from those who think you should be spending that time doing leetcode. How could you be any good at your job when you're flexing and sweating all the time?

Do these studies control for the fact that only dumbasses take anabolic steroids? :)

It's a lazy and dated stereotype. I know a lot of very intelligent people who spend a great deal of time lifting heavy things.

In fact, there's a joke around our campus that the engineering school needs its own fitness center due to the overall buffness of the students.

mp05··on Trump wins presidency for second time
I haven't followed it all that closely but didn't he end up being charged for libel/slander? That lady was a complete batshit lunatic. Just watch her interview with Anderson Cooper; it's objectively cringeworthy.
mp05··on Trump wins presidency for second time
He won more votes than that other person who voted. I guess that's only the "majority" when it's convenient for the argument. So you may be technically correct but really, that's the worst kind of correct.
mp05··on Trump wins presidency for second time
> I mean, come on.

Well when you put it like that.

But really, it's interesting how this time around my entire Puerto Rican side of the family voted for Trump. All lifelong democrats too. These folks are the core of the country: Teamsters members, paraprofessionals, and mid-tier civil servants. They laughed at the joke about the pile of trash. They left Puerto Rico in the 60s for a reason.

As much as you don't like to admit it, your idea of "divisive" and "racist" and "violent" is based on a subjective standard. It just is. A lot of people disagree or don't find it offensive enough to care. I can't stress this part enough; these are the actual majority of America as indicated yesterday.

This is all to try and point out that this is a great time for the Democrats of America to take a hard look in the mirror and realize that, if this guy is so bad, then how the hell did he win so convincingly? I'll give you a hint but it involves the fact that a lot of these demonized Trump voters are, indeed, very fine people that would give you the shirt of their backs if you needed it.

mp05··on Trump wins presidency for second time
My two life-long democrat friends that voted for Trump just got tired of this shit , right here. They just don't believe it anymore. Even Andrew Cuomo admitted that Trump was subject to lawfare in New York. But go on, don't ask questions or think critically.

mp05··on SpaceX launches mission for 2 NASA astronauts who are stuck on the ISS
It’s almost laughable how the general public tries to apply their own soft feelings to these people built for high-stakes work. None of these people are bothered by this and their families have become accustomed to this sort of thing and too obscenely full of pride to let their own emotions get in the way.
mp05··on Show HN: Hosting my website using my C web server
> Is reverse proxying something we've collectively decided to cargo cult

Yeah, that’s ridiculous. “Cargo culting” is when people imitate processes without understanding the underlying purpose, but reverse proxying is widely used for valid reasons—like security, load balancing, caching, SSL termination, etc. It’s not just mindless mimicry. Dismissing a best practice as “cargo culting” because they don’t understand it is lazy. Just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s done without purpose. Worst case? You get people following a pretty good practice.

mp05··on Show HN: Wealthfolio: Private, open-source investment tracker
My point wasn’t necessarily creating a false dichotomy, since I was highlighting the inconsistency in the argument about trusting banks but dismissing reputable third-party apps on the whole. Does this person distrust consumer protections set up to allow for such tools to exist in the first place?

So to make "false dichotomy" stick, you going to need to assert that if Quicken were breached and this lead to my Schwab account being accessed by a bad actor, I actually am shit out of luck. Will you do that?

mp05··on Show HN: Wealthfolio: Private, open-source investment tracker
Oh it's "random" app, and here this time I figured we were talking about a reputable one that has PCI-DSS compliance like Quicken. My bad.

Sure, if you just trust some random Chrome extension from a random individual developer, you're absolutely setting yourself up for trouble when they hack your shit. But to wholesale dismiss all apps when there are actual legal protections in place that permit these businesses?

Sure it may be blogspam, but it got me to click the link to see more. If you want the goods, you should visit the site and here is the link.

I've worked with Arduino "professional" tools in educational settings, and I realize that real PROS roll their eyes at things like the Edge or Portena. However, they've made their way into some accessible PLC devices that help students learn without needing a Fanuc system.

That said, their support has been really great with the issues I've encountered and they publish a lot of original content and guides.

I'm just a genuinely satisfied customer and wanted to share this, but thanks for the downvotes.

I love the time and energy Arduino puts into the community. Remember, it's made possible by purchasing the genuine products and not cheap knockoffs! :)
