Television and video games are high up on my list of time-wasters. Mediocre girlfriends, PHP, music career, freelancing for crappy clients, electronics repair - the list goes on and on.

Remember that you are not a robot, not everything in your life needs to 100% optimized. It's all a learning experience no matter how much time you fritter away.

If you're reasonably young enough and free (i.e. no responsibilities, dependent family), you can gamble on the startup. If you have a semblance of a life, you will need to evaluate the company based on YOUR goals, not theirs.

Personally, I would take the money.

1) Salary 2) WFH days 3) Who am I working with?

Some communities do not talk to the police as a general rule. They are partially responsible for the out-of-control violent crime rates in their communities.

Ah, so you make it to the "culture fit" round of the interview... It's probably some personal issue. Make sure your hygiene is on point.
