mosajjal··on Pentagon says overreliance on AI contributed to missile strike on Iran school
I wrote about this March 9 (more than 6 months ago). No promo or paid substack:

https://alimos.substack.com/p/the-first-ai-enabled-war

The implication of AI having agency won't stop with this bombing or war. The next one will be "oops they nuked somewhere by accident"

mosajjal··on Ask HN: Iran's 120h internet shutdown, phones back. How to stay resilient?
some DNS tunneling solutions work (dnstt for example). Also, many people have smuggled Starlink are are providing proxies inside Iran.

Ideally cjdns or similar can be used inside the country to create an alternative encrypted mesh network inside the borders, with some "exit nodes" out.

mosajjal··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (Nov 2025)
I'm building a Firefox, Chrome, VSCode and OpenVSX security scanner and profiler, and working on building a private web store for Enterprises to switch to rather than using the default stores given all the ransomware and malware activity in that space. Will show HN very soon!
mosajjal··on Microsoft Teams with Startup Anduril on Army Combat Goggle System
Bloomberg done goofed up with that capital T in Teams. they "teamed up" with Microsoft. has nothing to do with Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft not using Blazor, their own technology, for their own websites? interesting.
mosajjal··on Twitter is having issues in NZ
"doesn't affect the place where Musk lives"

lol!

mosajjal··on Twitter is having issues in NZ
a lot of global companies rely on only US/EU servers to provide web services. leaves a lot of Asian countries to reach to the closest server to grab the data. in case of Twitter, that's usually US servers hence at least 300ms latency per request
mosajjal··on Tell HN: Google is correlating location data to your IP
it's not just ads, it affects the entire Google Cloud infrastructure. I've seen this in some proxy servers too. Wondering if this is mostly related to location data or a persistent cookie and/or tracker that's designed to detect VPN activity.
mosajjal··on Ask HN: As you get older, do you see programming as merely a means to an end?
Definitely. It goes from "I can't get enough of this" to "What am I here to do" gradually, and that's a good thing. I think of it as any digital tool you have at your home (eg TV). You get enthusiastic about the TV itself for a period of time, then you want to focus what to watch and what's a good content to be on that TV.
mosajjal··on Log4j RCE Found
this Snort signature should detect it fairly reliably:

alert tcp -> ( msg:"log4j rce detection"; content:"|24 7b|jndi|3a|"; nocase; )
