mooze··on Why innovators get better with age
I have a whole bunch of these slow-moving projects - it's my modus operandi really. A recurring idea surfaces during mental downtime, is improved on, then dismissed. Repeat this until it has taken on a life of its own, then sit down and plough through the whole implementation stage in one sitting. It's hard to quantify or even explain properly, but it works for me. So for a certain type of creative endeavour, yes, more time = more potential for innovation.
mooze··on Ask HN: Where do you go to learn to make things?
Whatever site Google unearthed that was relevant to my problem at hand - more often than not w3schools.com (only recently did I find out about w3fools.com).

Now is an excellent time to be reading The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey.

Thanks, Meteor looks amazing, it could well replace what I'm currently looking at!

Our backgrounds are so similar (down to the 'considering becoming an architect' part) it's scary - you've given me confidence that I can pull this off on my own:)

This is so cool! There are a few issues (clock hands load before the face does; no detailed 'about' section) but it's pretty impressive as it is.

Since I'm following in your footsteps and about to start the 'build' phase, I'm curious about the tools you used: which host, stack, framework etc, and why did you choose them? Did you learn everything from scratch?

Congrats on the launch btw, it's quite a feat:)
