monological··on Take Over The Galaxy with GitHub (DCPU16 support)
Notch said it'll run around 100khz in-game, so it should be a piece of cake for an FPGA to do it in even one in-game clock cycle.
monological··on I’m calling it: Ubuntu is finally ready for the world.
Have you ever tried to resize a window in Ubuntu? You know what I'm talking about...
monological··on AirPlay running on Raspberry Pi
See I didn't know this. Now it makes sense why they were able to get it so cheap. Getting a deal like that w/ Broadcom is pretty difficult to do imagine.
monological··on AirPlay running on Raspberry Pi
You have projects like http://beagleboard.org/ (beagle xm $150 and $89 beagle bone), and http://leaflabs.com/devices/ ($45 maple), which are all ARM based devices, that have been around for a while. I just don't understand how these guys got it so cheap, which is why it seems like they just optimized the bom to get it to where it is. I'll hand it to them though, that is an impressive feat.
monological··on AirPlay running on Raspberry Pi
I don't understand why the rpi is so special. Any half-decent hardware engineer could have built this. They just optimized the BOM to get it to $25 bucks? Someone explain this to me.
monological··on Vim-powerline: The ultimate vim statusline utility
thank you
monological··on Vim-powerline: The ultimate vim statusline utility
I'm a noob. Can someone please explain how to install this thing?
monological··on Stripe: instant payment processing for developers
This is extremely confusing. Thought it was just a test account. Left depressed because I couldn't sign up.
monological··on How we sacrificed our youth to build a company
This is the most depressing thing I've ever read. Life requires balance.
monological··on Ask HN: I need a G+ invite
Thanks everyone!
monological··on Ooops.
1000 points really? This is on par with initial tsunamii news.
monological··on Are you a technical person?

monological··on Fired employee wipes out whole season of TV show
Is the guys name really Micheal Scott? April fools!
monological··on Tarsnap critical security bug
tarsnap.com has exceeded their app engine quota. Not good for business.
monological··on A Homebrew 8-Bit Computer
I read on your webpage that you go to HSC. I LOVE that place.
monological··on Ask HN: How do you tell your boss you're ready to move on?
I always use bigboss. MGS anyone?
monological··on Ask HN: How would you deal with DDoS?
but that would mean that you only redirect packets based on filtering out the botnet IPs, which would be pointless because if you could distinguish between botnet IPs and valid users, then you'd have the ddos problem solved
monological··on Ask HN: How would you deal with DDoS?
hmm what if you 301 redirected (if http) the ddos flood back at 4chan, would that end up disabled their site?
monological··on The Rise of the Homepreneurs
what a garbage blog post. It doesn't even go into detail as to what these home businesses do. Is the point of this post to make me feel better about myself. To give me some hope that I too can start a business just like these people since the stats are going up!
monological··on Climbing Out of a Slump
He points out that one of the keys is not to indulge too much in something, e.g., eating fried food, because you get used to it. Couldn't agree more. You need a baseline. When the slumps hit, then you pull out your med-pack.
monological··on Climbing Out of a Slump
I also do this!

'Just put on your running shoes, and go to the gym. You don't have to run', I'd tell my self. Gets me every time.

monological··on First programmable 8-bit CPU built in Minecraft
The guy that made the 16-bit ALU is not the same guy that made this thing. FYI...
monological··on Ask HN: What to do in Portland?
Pearl district is the place to be. Also if you like coffee, check out Barista.
monological··on John Carmack on government
> "that at least vector in that direction."

He would say that...

monological··on Mother Effing Text-shadow
get a real browser...like chrome or safari
monological··on Digg Version 4
umm is it down?
monological··on I'm a nearly broke developer/entrepreneur and felt like venting
Stop working on it for a while, go get a job to sustain yourself, save up some money, working on it weeknights/weekends and once it's it at point where it reaches some sort of critical mass, quit the job and live off of what you saved up. It's like when you're playing starcraft, you don't have an adequate supply of minerals, and you keep unsuccessfully trying to harass the enemy. It's not going to do anything. You have to focus on getting some dough, ramping up your production and then punk the enemy.
monological··on Theories on Why College Kids Are Studying Less
Because they're lazy and they've been given everything on a silver platter. I'm 24.
monological··on Dragdealer JS
I initially read this as drugdealer
monological··on Making a million bucks/year in revenue
Err...the internet?
