I have small bash script which keeps checking for Internet, if my machine does not have live working internet, it sends a notification with alert (text + sound) "You are offline, you may read some books :)" and then it launches iBooks so I can do some reading when offline.

PS. Also when Internet is back, it alerts again so I can resume online Work if I have to.

Good luck Waqas. Happy to see Pakistani startup at HN!

This post and comments bring back too many bad memories and horrible experience I had with Google Adsense banning my account, with automated responses. I better build my own product or services , I learnt years ago.

In this post they say, if a user clicks again and again... so don't ask your friend to-do so, what kind of bs is this, how they know if the user was our competitor or some ex friend doing to hurt.... they just go ahead and suspend...

Wow what a lovely tool!

I used it successfully to delete many old Forks.

Just one request if you could give list with select/unselect for all the forks queued for deletion so we may can unselect any few of those repos just in case.

I also want to keep useful stuff for offline consumption, I used to do pdf printing...Now I use pocket , a free service, with addon on chrome , one click add to pocket... and on Android free app... working great for last few months I have been using.

Thank you for sharing, easy to follow read with some practical steps one can take.

Sign up and checking out sample was also fine at my side. However it is when you try to select new Report/give data source ... then it says: Quote: "Data Studio is not available in your country. Would you like to be notified when the service is available?"

Not Free for Everyone, as it said, it is not available in your country! (Pakistan), looks like US only edition for now.

I would recommend laracasts[1]. I have learned tons of solid PHP principles, code structuring techniques...

1. https://laracasts.com

You are right. I experience this a lot. I have faced login to unsubscribe also. Your solution seems to be good.

Didn't know this. Thanks a ton for this. Awesome I just enabled it.

Oh funny thing I found I was wrong about showdead setting there... I had assumed if I wanted myself to be declared dead/offline I could set my profile to show dead.. lol

Bill Gates is really impressive guy, great insights.

tldw: Public toilets didn't get used due to bad smell, we fix the smell issue, we get more adoption and it improves health conditions in the area regarding hygiene due to more people using toilets now.

I see I do not speak much when I am inside, in front of the screen. I suggest you getting out, and putting yourself in situations where you have to speak...

I know you are asking for technological tool for this, but looks like the problem you are trying to solve is created by technology , so maybe the solution is non tech and getting away from the technology.

What about internal wiki. We use doku wiki lot of knowledgebase there for anyone to read...

You need simplenote [1], free, no photos nothing, just simple notes. I use and love it. Android app have even small psss

First/Second book in nodejs link broken for: Learn to Create Node.js Applications from Scratch

One person paid ten dollars to buy the domain :-)

You know I thought I was on Amazon site. Glad to see a website which does not look like Themes' related site :)

I really like the way you are showing themes there with not just a thumbnail as it used to be, but with homepage and inner pages's templates.

Great work! Keep it up!

Exactly! We were typing at the same time. Laracasts is the best, for best practices for php development.

For php and web development in general I highly recommend Laraccasts. https://laracasts.com/series

Also for web development in general take free course at udacity, taught by reddit founder.

Also on codacadmy and codeschool have some qualified free screencasts to teach professional web development to beginners.

Agree with your article. Following proves what you write...

In context of recent criticism for MBP launch read this interview and specially quote below the link:

Quote from interview with Apple official:

And we are proud to tell you that so far our online store has had more orders for the new MacBook Pro than any other pro notebook before.

Paid user of Lastpass here. I am happy to see them open it for masses as it will help more users get on Password Manager instead of using same password everywhere.

Now will I stay paid user, yes, because I like and use following feature heavily, which is paid only :

ability to share folders with up to five users

This allows me to have all shareable logins at one place, and sharing with team or family member is so easy instead of sharing each site one by one, which is painful process for users on both sides.

Exactly I am in same situation. I work remotely, most of my work is to private repo on github.

I have set it up so that my private contributions are shown in my profile progress chart, no access to private data but activity looks good sign.

Good luck :-)

Great ebook thank you.

One thing I may suggest that allowing people to get ebook without signup as it is going to help this guide get into hands of many more people and will help Zapier in many ways, more prospective clients, employees, partnerships and goodwill in general.

I suggest in spare time contributing to open source. This will build a good profile for prospective employers from future. As working remotely you may not be visible much in scene, however if you have strong presence in open source space, you will stay visible and prove how much you get done being self motivated. And any future company , most remote employers love self motivated, accomplished team members. And your online open source contributions helps validate that.

Yes they are done for me also. Location: Pakistan

Exactly, I see tweet in Google SERPS for GitHub , I try to access and twitter too is down like Github.

GitHub, Twitter down for me in Pakistan.
