moebrowne··on Looking forward to Git 2.56 – and 3.0
I used to do this purely so that I could attach a name, then I found out that you can add a message when stashing: `git stash push -m "trying a thing"`

It appears that BitBucket also does not currently support SHA256 hashes.

moebrowne··on Htmx 4.0
Because serialisation and deserialisation have a price and you almost never need what you describe
moebrowne··on Htmx 4.0
Where are you getting those numbers from? The minified code is about 40kB before compression and about 13kB with gzip.

moebrowne··on Kagi added a setting for removing paywalled links from search results
Not sure what you mean by "private payments" but Kagi accepts Bitcoin: https://help.kagi.com/kagi/plans/payment-methods.html
moebrowne··on Maximizing the value of your Claude Code sessions
Nope, but there are unofficial ones:

moebrowne··on Maximizing the value of your Claude Code sessions
It depends. If you have a Claude Code subscription then it defaults to an hour, if you use Claude via an API or third party then it defaults to 5 minutes. You can opt-in to the 1 hour TTL but it obviously costs more.

> 5-minute cache write tokens are 1.25 times the base input tokens price > 1-hour cache write tokens are 2 times the base input tokens price

moebrowne··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
That article is well over a year old. The current privacy FAQ right now explicitly states:

> We never sell your personal data. Unlike other big tech companies that collect and profit off your personal information, we’re built with privacy as the default. We don’t know your age, gender, precise location, or other information Big Tech collects and profits from.

Not saying your wrong, but the number, and type, of sites you browse is going to be a very narrow slice of the sites that all Firefox users browse
moebrowne··on HTML over WebSockets: real-time SPAs with barely any JavaScript
> HTMX only does GET

The very top of the docs (https://htmx.org/docs/) shows how HTMX sends a POST request:

        hx-swap="outerHTML">

moebrowne··on Local models will not win
The foundation of this article is that the frontier models are going to keep advancing at the same rate, and therefore always be ahead of local ones. I dont believe this trend will continue. I think we are reaching the top of the S-curve.

moebrowne··on It's getting harder to focus every day
I don't buy this. I think people find it easier to make excuses about lacking some magical, unobtainable, abstract property like "the drive" than to actually put in the effort to improve themselves.
moebrowne··on It's getting harder to focus every day
It seems to me that lots of people consider the ability to focus as some kind of innate ability which we are all born with, it's not. It's a learned skill which requires practice. Stop practising and it atrophies.

We all understand this for physical exercise, I think we need to understand the same principles apply to skills.

moebrowne··on Back to Kagi
> It seems what people like about Kagi is the customization and surrounding tooling, but the actual search quality is about the same

For me the quality of results is improved exactly because of the customization. Removing sites which I don't trust, are low quality, spammy, etc.
