Wow. This is the level of discourse we've reached here now.
Why the ad hominem? If you have an actual point to make on technical merit, by all means, make it. Were you passed on in a job interview at Segment? Why the hostility? (honest question)

> competent governance
India is far from competent in this regard.
Datomic packages up a CQRS + event-sourced architecture in a really nice way. You can stash graph/tree/relational/tabular/(insert shape here) data and query it out with the powerful Datalog language. You get time travel (versioning) for free. Etc, etc.
It's a crime that this hasn't taken off as one of the leading data stores; hopefully Cognitec has some sort of roadmap to an open source release.
It's syntax fixes pretty much every issue I ever had with OCaml as well (and feels pretty nice to write if you're coming from a JS background)
This should work out well...
This is pretty cringeworthy. If your tools are introducing enough incidental complexity that it needs to be reflected in your compensation, i'd argue your tools are failing your company badly.
You should be paid more to reflect a higher level of technical or domain expertise relative to other engineers, not to account for your ability to glue together a mish-mash of poorly documented and half-baked technologies.
It's not actually the nightmare many make it out to be with ES6. I actually enjoy writing it quite a bit (I have mainly a functional background)
