part of it is already being done: judges in France just ask companies like FAANG for location data, including live location. E2E encryption is the only way for companies to be able to refuse (and this is why there’s been a strong governmental push against it).

The scary new part is the turning on the camera/mic.

anyone knows how Russia limited the access?

I would really like to see photos/videos of this

Zenly | Mobile Engineers | Full Time | Paris, France | Onsite | https://zen.ly

Hey you! Zenly here. https://zen.ly/jobs

We wanted an easy way to know what our friends were doing. Naturally we created an app - a map that lets you see your friends and what they're up to.

We are creators, change makers, we love to learn together by doing and trying and we are looking for passionate people that we can learn from and learn with.

Let's chat if you are an engineer looking for real challenges and who would like building a product that brings millions closer to their friends and family.

We love:

* Engineers who like to code and don't take shortcuts creating features that have an immediate impact.

* Performing and delightful user experiences, Reactive Streams (RxSwift, RxJava), working on the edge of device's capabilities.

* Rust, Go, high-traffic architectures, realtime processing of insane amounts of data, distributed systems and their problematics.

If any of this is raising your excitement level, give it a go and apply. If not sure, e-mail me at franco@zen.ly and let's see together.

Some of these are wrong: Rappi used PHP exclusively for it's first year, for instance

I agree, it would be awesome. Thinks like virzoom bike controller are pretty fun and unlock unexpected use cases (see https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/5y15vx/elit... for a fun take on that)

Great update! What's a recommended routine to start with?

I've tried it for a little bit and it was great!

Rappi YCW16 | Go / iOS / Android developers | Remote (Anywhere, latam preferred) | Full-time | https://rappi.com

Rappi quickly grew from on-demand delivery to a superapp for latam. We already deliver groceries, sell electronics, offer next-gen debit cards/app, host games and are looking to build and scale our newest verticals.

The superapp team is looking for people who are quick on their feet and addicted to building product and generating impact. We are already a large company (received > $1B in funding) but the superapp team operates as a group of startups.

Apply if you like building scaleable products that reach millions of users, generates millions in GMV and has a positive impact in the world.

To apply, reach out at: impact@rappi.com

build it!

We use you @ Rappi <3 Retool

I remember browsing it in the 90s... remember any epic stuff from back then?

Midori traveler's notebook. A great example of wabi-sabi design.

The valve controller seriously needs this, the driver/steam integration is badly broken. I'm pretty sure the open source community can do better.

I have a mild suspicion that my 4 year old niece may be dyslexic. She can read and write all the letters and their sounds, but she can't seem to tie the sounds into syllables, not even the simplest ones. She is not being pressured into reading, she just liked it up to this point. Is there any tell-tale sign I should be aware of ?

I see a lot of potential in open sourcing a modern and beautiful mail client, but the requirement of using a mail middleware (centralized or self-hosted) is a deal breaker for me.

yeah, it's similar to what https://bitcorps.co/ is doing too

wow, nice, what documentaries show him working on his Amiga??

I'm pretty sure this is going to happen in Argentina soon http://panampost.com/belen-marty/2014/07/01/argentinas-natio...

Nice, but I didn't mean putting the binary files on git. It's not easy to see changes since the file format is not text based.

This makes me wish there was a SCM of sorts for fonts so that collaborating on them would be easier.

In Buenos Aires I've only seen one guy riding unicycle. He seemed to be commuting to work: he was very, very fast and always blazing through the street at the same time.

Is it comfortable for short commutes?

It'd be good if this worked in warmer places like Australia, where you actually want to drink beer.
