In India, Google pay is a client for the UPI platform. You could send money from Google pay to Whatsapp pay for example.
India has a much more robust democracy because Indians have several dozen political parties to choose from unlike the US which has only 2 recognised parties.
India has had Prime Ministers from even very small regional parties that formed giant coalitions.
Americans meanwhile are stuck with 2 parties they perpetually hate
There are several foreign channels that are banned in India including Al Jazeera and for very good reasons.
Plus, I’m sure the West doesn’t get Russia Today or CCTV right now. nor India’s DD
It makes it sound like there’s a pollution warfare even though the article makes no justifications on how these countries are choking on each other’s pollution rather than their own. The article also talks about Nepal and Bhutan but the title has only Ind/Pak
it’s hard not to associate a nefarious reason especially because it is the economist
should have simply been “South Asia is choking in its pollution”
Not anymore.
They had been pitching AI for how long and now they have to sustain themselves on openshift sales.
Apple and Amazon are friendly to each other. Microsoft and Facebook have been longtime partners despite Microsoft owning Linkedin. but Google manages to enter everybody’s industry and fail.
Google claims to operate Pay in dozens of countries with millions of transactions but almost all of them are from India where Google pay is merely a client for UPI
the search UX, especially the top bar where you switch between search types is broken for nearly a decade and they are not able to fix that.
This tweet thread is unnecessarily confusing the two. How does restricting browser engine to webkit decide what browser engines they use?
Davos is a religious gathering. You wouldn’t be happy/unhappy about other religious gatherings that you don’t participate in.
The elites really don’t have any control or vision over what’s going to happen, just like shamans and religious leaders of the past did not
No amount of effort is going to make windows usable when there’s a company actively working to make it user-hostile
It was a “new Microsoft” because they stopped making windows the center of their existence.
now windows takes a lower priority behind xbox even within it’s own division.
In India, neither income taxes nor consumption taxes go to the local municipalities. This fact makes the rest of your comment meaningless although positive loops can be created in other ways.
But my original point stands: Local governments need to increase their housing taxes and provide these services
There’s a pro-Poor policy bias in places that are actually rich and these places have very different expectations.
Local governments in India are perennially short on money and it’s they who are responsible for things like water supply, sanitation and garbage collection.
There are several joint venture garbage disposal companies operating in India. But only a few municipal corporations can afford to pay them.
And those few cities that do use these services rank well in cleanliness rankings
City corporations need money to enforce the laws and clean stuff up but housing taxes continue to remain disproportionately low and people don’t pay that either.
Somehow they ignore the fact that those things existed pre-Reagan and the pathetic state they were in economically, socially and politically regardless.
And US had no reason to break it because until maybe 2005 US was the biggest beneficiary of this system.
You’re complaining that india doesn’t have the manufacturing capability by pointing to the fact that stuff is not manufactured in India, in a thread that talks about manufacturing moving to India.
You realistically don’t have a way to measure capability.
