Unless you need to shoot a lot of high frame (60fps+) rates I think there a lot of alternative options. There is incredible and award winning work made made with Sonys, Canons and Black Magic cameras and of course Arris. Producers and creative directors with big budgets love to get excited about Red cameras but most often the reality is they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between footage from different manufacturers. I think Red is a bit of a status symbol at this point as all the competition has pretty much caught up.

I think you could spend 50% of the price on a c500ii or a FX9 and get 90% of quality. That leaves a lot of money on the table for a decent set of cinema glass.

Or you can get a used Alexa Mini for the same price as a Raptor.

If your ISP does CGNAT a typical WireGuard setup won’t work without a public IP address. Tailscale makes it possible to use a VPN without a public IP. I use Tailscale with Starlink which uses CGNAT.

I’m on my second home remodel and spend a lot of time at HomeDepot. I generally avoid searching via their website or app and just use either DDG/google with the “site:homedepot.com” search operator. I get way more reliable results that way.

And at my local stores the available quantity shown on the website is rarely accurate. Fairly frustrating experience to show up when the app lists “20 in stock” and there isn’t anything there.

These come pre installed with Openwrt. I haven’t tried any of their products though.

I just tried the wrt3200acm with openwrt for about a month and it wasn’t nearly stable enough. The wifi issue is pretty well know and people seem to be working on it but I’d stay away.

These could work super well for large camera rental houses that are constantly checking gear in and out. Lots of little parts to check in after a rental. This could save a ton of time.
