mikemoka··on Russia's MPs "who wants to buy gas has to buy rubles or freeze to death"
it's nice to see that the world is moving backward instead of moving forward in 2014...
mikemoka··on Framework 7 – Building native iOS apps in HTML5
"security reasons" (= http://bit.ly/1d7p5Tq)

it would be interesting if they elaborate on those...

mikemoka··on Results of operation against child exploitation enterprise on Tor network
I definitely agree, an international task force fighting that kind of people would be a nice thing as well, if it doesn't exist yet.
mikemoka··on RT Anchor Quits Over Ukraine Coverage, Says Credibility Destroyed
A day will come when no propaganda will be useful, everything will change then. In the end of the day there is not much doubt that the US, FOR ITS OWN CITIZENS is far more democratic than Russia and has a lower crime rate, corruption and alcoholism though, no propaganda can change this.

The problem is that also the west has its share of wrongdoings and the world will actually improve only when we start to give everyone's life - honestly - the same exact value.

mikemoka··on Tor Instant Messaging Bundle
What is Sponsor O? Why is the interface localized only in those particular languages?
mikemoka··on EU has secret plan for police to 'remote stop' cars
anything they do I hope that nothing can simply "stop" the car, but just gradually slow it down, otherwise it would be a HUGE risk for everyone involved of course

and if something like this really must exist PLEASE at least make it sure that nobody more far than 1km (probably a legitimate police officer at the scene) can turn it on..if you are farther than that location coordinates would be more than enough in my view..

mikemoka··on iMessage from Terminal
:-) a lot of people hoped that this was an opensource implementation of the protocol that could easily be ported to Android I bet...
mikemoka··on PNG Image Metadata Found Leveraging iFrame Injections
It seems like this is allowed by design, so am I missing something? Why hasn't such a "feature" been turned off by all the newest browsers and rendering engines?

I know this method could have been made available for canvas image editing purposes but is there any legitimate reason for allowing javascript to be executed as well and not to strip it out automatically?

mikemoka··on FAROO: Distributed Search Engine
let's just hope they don't get bought and shut down... =(

ps. still needs tons of work though it seems

mikemoka··on Ask HN: Skype, but properly peer-to-peer?
you should keep track of this one probably

http://tox.im/

mikemoka··on How Does This Not Blow Your Mind?
it would be interesting to know what they do there,I think that they probably don't party 24/7 there
mikemoka··on Datacoin
bitcoin can already provide proof of existence in a similar way if that is the key advantage expressed, if they claim to be able to store an indefinite amount of future data instead, as could be inferred by a quick scanning of the text, I find it very hardly scalable at all, there could be useful files of any size passing through the voting system and the blockchain should be replicated by each client on the network in theory in order to safeguard the network from possible missing nodes

mikemoka··on Show HN: real-time eye tracking web analytics
interesting
mikemoka··on Clinkle
Actually the video leaves a bit of sadness at the very end, when you realize that everything was just said to promote something.

I would love if this video would be refocused on promoting a serious charitable organization instead, while still showing clinkle's logo on screen as a partner.

mikemoka··on How to make Touch ID a little safer
For those who continue to use Touch ID, Graham suggested a simple step for minimizing the success of Starbug's attack:

"use only pinky or ring fingers to unlock your device. He said most prints left on glasses, iPhone screens, and other surfaces are from thumbs and index fingers. Enrolling a pinky or ring finger won't completely foreclose attacks like the one developed by Starbug, but it will require an attacker to work much harder to succeed."

mikemoka··on IOS 7 Passcode Security Flaw
If this is a feature it is a badly designed one because this could be a real problem if your phone is stolen and you don't notice for instance, they should have added a voice identification system or similar to balance convenience and security, at least on the first use to open a timed session, which is totally in their capabilities in my opinion.
mikemoka··on IOS 7 Passcode Security Flaw
When a door is locked I don't expect it to open by saying "let me through", with all the specific differences I think this is a reasonably common expectation to have.
mikemoka··on IOS 7 Passcode Security Flaw
If this is true it is an impressive security debacle for a company like Apple, "allow siri access while the iPhone is locked" should clearly be off by default, and the user should be alerted about the potential dangers when deciding to turn it on.

mikemoka··on Apple’s Touch ID: A 500ppi Fingerprint Sensor Built Into iPhone 5S Home Button
I agree, my point anyway was that the problem remains even if everything works as you described, up until you notice that the phone is missing and find a way to get online and change the password of your own itunes account
mikemoka··on Apple’s Touch ID: A 500ppi Fingerprint Sensor Built Into iPhone 5S Home Button
Definitely, and, on the other hand, if that's true there will only be a client side verification, which will be defeated by a jailbreak sooner or later. When it happens anyone who steals your phone will have an easy way to your money as well I guess.
mikemoka··on 'Game changer:' Tourniquet for abdominal wounds is already saving lives
This could save many people back in the country as well, it would turn out to be impressively useful for car accidents or similar events, every ambulance should be required to carry it imho
mikemoka··on [dead]
check this video concept for the ET3 version as well, it looks quite interesting:

mikemoka··on Meta (YC S13), The Crazy AR Glasses That Aim To Do What Google Glass Can’t

mikemoka··on Deutsche Telekom, Web.de and GMX launch "E-mail made in Germany" initiative
Yes, because there is no reason to believe that the german government has any interest in the active surveillance of digital communications.

mikemoka··on End to end encrypted email, based in Sweden
"Our Session encryption scheme:

1. User starts our Java-applet.."

Funny, I stopped exactly here as well =)

mikemoka··on Small Objects on the Lunar Surface
I think the phenomenon can be explained by the gravitational anomalies on the surface of the moon..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitation_of_the_Moon

any other idea?

mikemoka··on Soylent now accepting Bitcoin for preorders
How is it possible that a fixed diet may fit every different lifestyle?

I mean, would soylent be enough for people going to gym frequently? would it be too much for people always working at home?
