So weird to see this at #1 since I was researching this exact topic last night. My idea is a fully scriptable (Racket or CL) editor with modern package management system. A tiny C core would handle rendering (curses, etc.). Very cool write up though!

Port allocation is quite simple. We randomly select an unused port between 8000-8999.

The most recent version has a --count flag which allows you to specify the number of application instances to launch. I believe the Heroku equivalent is --scale.

But, even in a January interview with ReadWrite about how progressive the company had become, she noted some lingering issues: “I recently got an email from a middle manager that began, ‘So Julie, how are the women at GitHub?’ I said, ‘You should ask them’.”

Umm, maybe I'm misinformed, but from what I've read Horvath was a bit of a evangelist for women in tech at GitHub. So why is it problematic to assume she might have her finger on the pulse with regard to GitHub's female employees?

Also, if you've "been harassed by 'leadership' at GitHub for two years" why not stand up for yourself and put the jerks in their place, or talk to a lawyer? Why take to Twitter like a child and post a spate of accusations?

Interesting. I can see how this may help out novice users, but you'll definitely have to beef out the offering before it's worth paying for.

I didn't get that impression at all. He seems to fully comprehend his situation and it comes through clearly in his interview.
