if you are interested in spanner, you might take a look at cockroachdb. esp the production ready serverless offering which is pay for consumption only. crdb architecture is essentially spanner under the bonnet, GIFFE

My favorite Grace Hopper fact nobody seems to know: She was an early Mark I programmer and was tasked with compiling a book on how to program the machine. (IOW how to punch the right holes in the paper tape to then feed into the machine). This was the world's very first computer manual. (I go back and forth over whether this was a good thing)

not just cake. STATEFUL CAKE. ymmmmmmmmmmm

Neanderthals probably did have some form of language since appear to also have had a gene that is crucial to language in humans. And they buried their dead. So why would we presume they didn't make some sort of marks intentionally, to convey meaning or just to decorate their favorite rock?

distributed db with postgres tool & client capability = verrrry interesting already. now serverless too, and free? <excitement intensifies>

Cockroach just today launched a free hosted serverless version of the db. Looks generous free tier then reasonable once you outgrow, postgres wire compatible, sign up thru GH https://www.cockroachlabs.com/blog/announcing-cockroachdb-se...

Took a shot at figuring out what serverless actually does for devs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

this was fun! and now i want ramen...i guess after i set up my new db lol
