That Joe tool of yours looks really cool!
mewwts··on Rückzugsorte – Map of areas in Berlin which are the furthest away from a street
This is so cool! Would love to have this kind of information before I rent or buy an apartment.
mewwts··on Qri: A global dataset version control system built on the distributed web
I love how the distributed web is seemingly built more and more in golang these days.

mewwts··on Ask HN: What technologies did you learn in 2018?
I’ve learned golang and ethereum this year! It’s been a lot of fun.
mewwts··on Show HN: Coinmarketcap replacement with free JSON API
You could offer historical data for a 1 time fee.
mewwts··on Show HN: Smart contract decompiler that uses symbolic execution
Super curious to how this works - care to elaborate a bit? Any chance you could use this to decompile arbitrary contracts into ABIs?
mewwts··on Show HN: Coinmarketcap replacement with free JSON API
I'd love historical API access!
mewwts··on GraphSense – A Scalable Cryptocurrency Analytics Platform
Some friends of mine are doing this https://www.coinfi.com/signals
mewwts··on Ask HN: Did any Show HN posts turn into successful startups?
I'm actually very psyched to use retool in my startup. We're not there yet but soon!
mewwts··on AWS AppSync – Build data-driven apps with real-time and offline capabilities
I can only speak about Firebase, but it gets very expensive very quickly.

> Because your existing data can limit the solution space, and it can distract you from finding the best approach. You’ll be stuck in a local optimum where you try to shoehorn every problem into the dataset you have available

Found this to be a very insightful quote, and something I haven't really thought about before.

mewwts··on Ask HN: How to getting started in AI/ML?
Hey!

I'd suggest starting with this excellent course:

https://www.coursera.org/learn/machine-learning

And then dive into competitions on kaggle.com.

Then following up with the deeplearning.ai specialization here: https://www.coursera.org/specializations/deep-learning

and the http://www.fast.ai/ courses.

You'll be up to speed in no time :)

I thought you had outsourced Vipps to India?
mewwts··on Python decorators they don't tell you about
That never crossed my mind. Neat trick!
mewwts··on South Korea considers cryptocurrency tax
But wouldn’t that have a profound impact on the value of a currency? If all demand for it dissappeared except taxes what would happen to it’s value relative to other currencies? What would happen to trade?
mewwts··on Numpy: Plan for dropping Python 2.7 support
I don't see why you would need too? Just lock your dependencies and be happy.
mewwts··on Ask HN: How much do you sleep?
I try to get 8-9 hours a night. I usually go to bed at 10pm and wake at 7am. I wish I could sleep less, but I just feel terrible when I do. At least I hope that I'm more productive the time I'm actually awake.
mewwts··on iMac Pro
So how's this going to perform for Deep Learning?
mewwts··on Scenic Tram Simulator
