meshr··on How companies use fake sites, backdated articles to censor Google results (2017)
Yes, introducing SERP rules intends obligations. The obligations could be enforced by legals or by union of “angry” users who will stop fighting with each other for SERP but start fighting with Google instead who treats them as useful idiots.
meshr··on How companies use fake sites, backdated articles to censor Google results (2017)
It happens because doing fakes is free but struggling with them costs money. This problem can be solved if Google search result would be driven by rules/smart contracts but not by the income of Google's shareholders.
meshr··on Google pulls Russian opposition leader's YouTube advert ahead of vote
Russia is authoritarian country. All elections are fake there.
meshr··on Backpage.com’s Founders Speak for the First Time
They are impostors. True libertarians protect the right not to pay for other. You can support whatever you want only after you get this right.
meshr··on South Korean cam-hunter squads conduct electronic sweeps of public spaces
You may find surprising how the system may demand 9 years of prison for a father who made shots of his weakly child here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yury_A._Dmitriev BTW He is in prison for about 2 years now. You shouldn’t demand the system to protect your privacy because you will pay for it with your money and freedom. You can protect privacy yourself if you will. I gave some examples above when it can happen by accident/stupidity.
meshr··on South Korean cam-hunter squads conduct electronic sweeps of public spaces
I can’t accidentally read top secret because it is secured much better than public places. I can’t disclose it by mistake. Its guards don’t expose it when they want to protest. People privacy can’t be more important than government documents, because protecting each citizen is much more complex/pricy task than protecting those documents. Disclosing those documents is a problem for all citizens. Disclosing citizen privacy is a problem for him. You can’t restrict good willing citizen rights because of bad guys.
meshr··on South Korean cam-hunter squads conduct electronic sweeps of public spaces
> changing rooms and locker rooms

But it is kind of public place too. What if you open it by mistake with google glass on? 5 years in prison? What if another woman there receives video call? 5 years in prison? What if some stupid child does it? What if hackers or sneaky woman intentionally put such shots on your phone and call police?

>if someone took a picture of you

I’m not comfortable with it too. But I don’t think it is more criminal than piracy. I don’t want that police restrict cameras anyway because of it. I want the police to protect copyright better

>It was her decision to pose topless in public

So the subject for protection is not her body itself but her power to define how to “sell” it? Isn’t it prostitution? They should make prostitution legal first then.

meshr··on South Korean cam-hunter squads conduct electronic sweeps of public spaces
But it is “virtual” projection of the same info (body). There is a difference in the history of the picture shooting but the picture is the same and may falsely say was it shot in public or in private with the help of photoshop. So the same picture may be the serious crime or profitable shot for newspaper depending on unclear history or how good you can fake it or what body owner says. You can’t make something a serious crime if it could be faked.
meshr··on South Korean cam-hunter squads conduct electronic sweeps of public spaces
I guess better copyright enforcement may help. They should also read about deepfakes and stop thinking that filming once body itself is already a serious crime. It matters how that info is used. Homosapien personality is not his body but his brain.

PS: Ironically another news on that page says “Women stage topless protest over Facebook ‘discrimination’ Did police arrest everyone who filmed this? Did police arrest these women for five years in prison for using their body as a weapon? Is it ok for the same woman to appear in both these news?

meshr··on Avicii died aged 28
It is not natural death. Sociaety continues to kill its geniuses and can’t see any problem with it. "You are traveling around, you live in a suitcase, you get to this place, there's free alcohol everywhere—it's sort of weird if you don't drink," he said in 2013. There should be above-natational electronic government that will fight for ppl interests but not alcohol taxes.
meshr··on Life as a Nonviolent Psychopath (2014)
I agree except I think psychopath does translate into evolutionary advantage more and more now. People become more and more independent as everything can be bought by money. So only rules/laws can stop psychopath from parasiting on other people. But don’t you think that almost all politics are professional psychopaths? People just elect the best psychopath to allow him to do lawmaking for them all. I think no one should get politic power before he discloses his mental health or at least brain scan.
meshr··on Facebook Is Deleting Accounts at the Direction of the US and Israeli Governments
Here is funny story how it works in reality:

12/23/2017 Facebook banned the page of the Kremlin-backed Chechen leader Kadyrov (he has more power than police in Russia). FB said “that the accounts appear to be maintained by or on behalf of parties who appear on the U.S. Specially Designated Nationals List and thus, subject to U.S. trade sanctions." [1]

12/24/2017 Russian airline company registered FB page with the same name to get all traffic of the banned page.[2]

12/30/2017 Kadyrov makes this company to return this page back to him. The page is returned back to Chechen Republic[3].

Now FB is violating their TOS for transferring accounts and U.S. trade sanctions.

meshr··on Why Anti-Corruption Strategies May Backfire
Let me disagree. Corruption is corruption but not cooperation. The same as cancer is a decease but not your new living form. The “bribery game” is bad corruption model because corruption often occurs when you don’t have a choice and you have to accept the corruption risk (which can cost you infinite money). “The public pool is multiplied and divided equally among the players” – they modeled Denmark but not Kenya to learn corruption, didn’t they? “Corruption is largely inevitable” – they should learn about blockchain. Lastly, I grown up in corrupt country (Russia) and I do not only think that bribes are acceptable but also think that anyone who does this should donate the same money to anticorruption agencies to treat this disease.
meshr··on The conventional wisdom about how clones age is probably wrong
Yes, I meant “random errors to DNA”. I don’t think they have quantum nature. So the problem is how good you can reproduce environment. I can see no obstacles why we can’t solve this problem. Baby stem cells are freezing for future use. It is real. it happens now. BTW, you can get exact DNA copy in case of IVF if you think it is crucial.
meshr··on The conventional wisdom about how clones age is probably wrong
Cells’ uniqueness is explained by epigenetic. And as already said, this problem could be eliminated. You can take a new borned baby stem cells with zygote's DNA almost in every clinic nowadays. The main problem is that almost all finding are banned in this field. I guess modern countries are incompatible with cloning. It is too game changing.
meshr··on The conventional wisdom about how clones age is probably wrong
I don’t understand how it happened that all countries banned clonning. Ethuanasia is ok but cloning is banned. So your gov better kill you for your taxes than allow you to reproduce more efficiently. Or is there secrete laboratories where can I clone myself? There are less and less reasons why not to try this.
meshr··on Germany bans children's smartwatches
Thank you. There is no good reason to ban progressive devices that can record true information unless you want to protect cheaters or you want to gain from post-truth reality or you want to teach children to lie/to be irresponsible or you are threatened with progress and want to revert everything back. It doesn’t work in long term.

meshr··on How do you find integer solutions to x/(y + z) + y/(x + z) + z/(x + y) = 4?
Thanks. At least I could check the solution there and it is correct.
meshr··on Free Dmitry Bogatov
The people who jailed him are from different humankind. They probably used his code contribution to Debian open source on their devices to catch him and in their everyday life. They laugh now at open-source community, because all that Debian can do is blocking Bogatov’s compromised keys. I guess there must be at least partially closed-source community (instead of total open-source one) in the ideal world then this community will have a power to help his member using sanctions in their soft. Remember also Ian Murdock case. I guess creators deserve more respect in this world. So the more powerful tools creators develop the more they need to move away from open-source.
meshr··on US court grants Elsevier millions in damages from Sci-Hub
I’m on the side of the law. But as I can see it doesn’t work. So it must be changed. The lawyers do useless work. They spent copyright’s time and money without any payback. Again, Elsevier only lost their money and got nothing. IMHO, the companies like google must be responsible here as they make money on piracy.
meshr··on US court grants Elsevier millions in damages from Sci-Hub
Doesn’t Elsevier understand that copyright law doesn’t work in Internet? They spent bunch of money on layers and got nothing but a piece of paper. They can’t even remove Sci-Hub from google.
meshr··on Someone cloned my website and is using it to scam people
You are lucky. In my case I received fake DMCA counter-notification from scammer and Google/FB asked me to go to court.
meshr··on Someone cloned my website and is using it to scam people
It doesn't work for real valuable IP because we don't have Internet court and even in obvious cases only real court can tell who is 'IP theft'. So creators have to spend a lot of time/money to prove obvious things while the scammer can change providers easily to DMCA resistant one.
meshr··on Someone cloned my website and is using it to scam people
It's a powerful tool if you are a law firm and your work is not very valuable, otherwise you will receive fake counter-notification from scammer and Google will ask you for court order.
meshr··on Why Founders Fail To Market Their Products
>5) Hiring a marketer takes too much time

Is there any recommendations for all in one turnkey service for marketing? So that i just pay money and they do the rest.

meshr··on Sergey Brin joins protest against immigration order at SFO
Something wrong with this world. I wish it to be vice a versa. Brin should be in the president chair, making America great as Google, and Trump should be outside joining protest against modernization.
meshr··on Efforts to Prolong My Husband’s Life Cost Him an Easy Death
1. It is normal that the most money is spent close to unsolvable problem, i.e. death. We won’t be able to extend life more if we all agree to die without fighting.

2. Life doesn’t make any sense without heroic measures. Once you make the meaning of your life “peaceful and pain-free” then you become home pet and you are already dead as a human, you don’t produce new information.

3. “Death isn’t the boogeyman”. Right, and the people who agree to accept torturous of dying process show other people how much does it cost being alive to keep chances to survive. Being alive cost much more than any torture. One day any decease may be treated.

meshr··on Making SQL Server run on Linux
Could you tell me how much RAM does sql server consume on Linux?
meshr··on Stallman’s Law
I agree. Moreover, we have ‘smart contracts’ technology now to make responsible society real. The problem is that we have too much parasites in human society who fight against progress in this area to protect their status quo. I think that in future responsible people won’t share the same economics/law system as irresponsible one, the same way humans are separated from the animals now. This split will happen once the world bullshit reaches its critical mass to make all reasonable people to unite.
meshr··on Uganda is shutting down schools funded by Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates
Why waste money on something that you can’t control? Better help smart people to immigrate to the country which will care about them.
