mesaframe··on FastAPI framework, high perf, easy to learn, fast to code, ready for production
I like how tightly integrated types are into FastApi.
mesaframe··on Rust for Windows
WinGet isn't publicly available yet.
mesaframe··on HR is not your friend, and other things I think you should know
Blog is badly written. There are excessive uses of pronoun without proper references to who means whom. Points backing up the idea is shallow. Author looks he wrote the blog while being angry.

Everything aside, I do agree with sentiment and would go on to say the nature of HR depend on the company. As it was alluded to later in the company. In my previous company, HR used to tell everything to the manager. Seriously everything!! In current one so far it looks good. But, let's see

mesaframe··on Artichoke is a Ruby made with Rust that compiles to WebAssembly
All the correct keywords used in the post to make it to the front page of HN.
mesaframe··on Important non-programming skills for programmers
And the ability to sell themselves.

Anyone got a good read on how can one sell oneself?

mesaframe··on Ask HN: Resources to encourage teen on becoming computer engineer?
The Elements of Computing Systems, also known as “Nand2Tetris”

It's a great resource for anyone starting out.

mesaframe··on Ask HN: Resources to encourage teen on becoming computer engineer?
A teen who doesn't know much about a field won't be able to describe things concretely.
mesaframe··on Ask HN: Should I quit the field of software development?
I'm starting out. How can I make recruiter contact me?
mesaframe··on Ask HN: Should I quit the field of software development?
The biggest hurdle for me to get the resume selected. How do people do that!?
mesaframe··on Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (SICP) Book
I want to work through the book I can barely find time for that.
mesaframe··on Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (SICP) Book
Have you read TAOCP?
mesaframe··on Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (SICP) Book
HTDP is a more gentler introduction to programming.
mesaframe··on Vue.js Creator Evan You Interview
Thank you. Today I realised, I should take responsibility of my words, and behaviour.
mesaframe··on Vue.js Creator Evan You Interview
> It frees us from following others opinions or a group direction

This! The biggest pro is the freedom to say politically incorrect things.

mesaframe··on Vue.js Creator Evan You Interview
I experience similar anxiety. For too long I kept my profiles (GitHub/Twitter/..) pseudo-anonymous. So that If I mess up somewhere I don't have to face the consequences after I shut that account down. This is primarily due to social anxiety rather than having any malicious intent.

Even my HN account is anonymous.

(That I think is holding me back too.)

I cannot imagine myself working like Evan.

mesaframe··on React is becoming a black box
Hooks is something I found no problem understanding. That's in total contrary to majority. This makes me wonder if I did really understand it.
mesaframe··on Why is OOP still so widely spread?
Honestly, this blog brings nothing new to the table. I expected more from a stack overflow blog. But was heavily disappointed.
mesaframe··on The Architecture of Open Source Applications
> it helps to be a part of an organization that rewards said technical depth.

I agree. My previous job wanted to employees to finish work ASAP. There were no incentives for quality. Performance was judged on the basis of how fast one can push things out irrespective of quality. As a result there was lack of engineering.

mesaframe··on Show HN: My notes on Working with Go
It's just code with comments what code is doing. Can we call them notes?
mesaframe··on Nim – Python-like statically-typed compiled language
That's a poor excuse. You cannot do everything in just few things and would want things that help you do more, or create abstractions easily. That will require additional syntax. In Go absence of generics will make you write more code that will increase code length unnecessarily.
mesaframe··on Amazon's ML University is making its online courses available to the public
No, that's not software engineering.
mesaframe··on Amazon's ML University is making its online courses available to the public
I am observing many companies have released their courses. In the process what any of that makes them special?
mesaframe··on Ask HN: Self-taught webdev with lots of free time. What should I learn?
I read this book. https://www.amazon.com/Designing-Data-Intensive-Applications...

And it was really enlightening. I would heavily recommend it. It starts off by teaching different types of implementations of different parts of DBMS. Then goes on to teaching about how distributed systems deal with various problems.

mesaframe··on Mozilla Fires Servo Devs and Security Response Teams
What is the future of the project then?
mesaframe··on Mozilla Fires Servo Devs and Security Response Teams
Like all of them?
mesaframe··on Mozilla lays off 250 employees while it refocuses on commercial products
Can you cite those mails? Is that the only argument behind the claim that Mozilla has bad leadership?
mesaframe··on I accidentally built a nudity/porn platform
Well, there are a lots of porn related projects. One of them being Deepfake
mesaframe··on Ask HN: How does your organisation train programmers?
What about things people they say they don't know. You can't expect everyone to know everything. You definitely want people to work on things after company's has taken them on onboard.
mesaframe··on Ask HN: How does your organisation train programmers?
> good programmers are usually not good teachers or mentors. And good teachers don't know about the specific stuff on your project.

Can you cite any source?

mesaframe··on What is Jio, and why are tech’s biggest players suddenly obsessed with it?
