mememememememo··on Sam Altman's response to Molotov cocktail incident
Ideas.

Now back to reality.

Law: Epstein. ICE, Geneva Convention, Segregation

Bill: Going once, going twice, highest bidder wins. Ironic on a Sama thread.

Trial: OJ Simpson. Many miscarriages.

Vigilantism: Revolutions

I am not saying break the law. I am saying look back at history.

"Like this" is doing some serious work in that statement!
mememememememo··on Filing the corners off my MacBooks
Hmm. Android uses the curvy bits for status so the main area is rectangle. So it is OK. It has the advantage of curved corners on casing to reduce chance of cracking screen on a drop.
mememememememo··on Filing the Corners Off MacBooks
Well you wont die on that hardened steel cube :)
mememememememo··on Filing the Corners Off MacBooks
External keyboard and mouse too easy?

Unless you fly/train travel alot I guess.

mememememememo··on The effects of caffeine consumption do not decay with a ~5 hour half-life
Decaf only is great for coffee lovers. Instant decaf is of course just a way to spoil perfectly good hot water. But decaf beans from a good roaster are good then grind and make what you desire - espresso, pour over, french press, moka etc.

Maybe preground OK for non-espresso too?

mememememememo··on Why do we tell ourselves scary stories about AI?
The way out of this for the seller is to lie and conflate the rich with everyone. "This technology will make your retirement account grow and other countries will be giving us money!"
mememememememo··on 1D Chess
Nice little puzzle!
mememememememo··on Why do we tell ourselves scary stories about AI?
People are renowned voting or buying in their own worst interests. And it goes back to before Trump and in many countries.
mememememememo··on Why do we tell ourselves scary stories about AI?
I read and experience scary stories about AI already. It is not a future maybe thing.
mememememememo··on OpenAI backs Illinois bill that would limit when AI labs can be held liable
1 hour? I'd go with 3 months.

(Reason is if it is not flagged the spread bet pays out for life!)

mememememememo··on Old laptops in a colo as low cost servers
If I am going to pay a colo I am going to get a proper server.

Or run the laptop at home and tunnel

Also sounds like a recipe for fire.

mememememememo··on The effects of caffeine consumption do not decay with a ~5 hour half-life
This may explain why cold turkey effects for me take 24h to start
mememememememo··on We've raised $17M to build what comes after Git
17M isn't a lot of money. It is for a person sure. Retire. Cessna. etc. But not to build a butler!
mememememememo··on I still prefer MCP over skills
Like saying I prefer websites over CLI, or bicycles over canoes. Chisels over planes. Depends what you are trying to achieve.
mememememememo··on Robots eat cars
The limit to EVs makes it fine (if excl. PHEVs). If BYD/Toyota have more models that is fine for the comparison. That is the point.
mememememememo··on Robots eat cars
Yeah but the OP offhand comment is a political soundbite that is technically half true and half prediction but misleading.
mememememememo··on Will I ever own a zettaflop?
People?
mememememememo··on Will I ever own a zettaflop?
Saw zetaflop in the title. Knew it would be that guy!
mememememememo··on EFF is leaving X
Ah I see what you are saying. You are a mattress tester.
mememememememo··on EFF is leaving X
That is my point. Who sees them? whatever the algo predicts will engage.
mememememememo··on EFF is leaving X
I hope they ran the numbers and did some cold surveying/analysis/postmortem before deciding that.

What is worse is those aren't shitty ad impressions. Interested people will be following maybe even expecting to see them. In addition and ironically also other interested people will be algorithmed in to their orbit.

E.g. I read more of a blogger I like because I follow him on LinkedIn over following RSS feed.

mememememememo··on EFF is leaving X
Sounds like: I wont get out of bed for $100k
mememememememo··on EFF is leaving X
> Yes. And we understand why that looks contradictory. Let us explain.

... paraphrase: meet people where they are at ....

Sounds even more contradictory now!

And the traffic loss doesn't explain it. That is a sunk cost fallacy.

mememememememo··on Git commands I run before reading any code
I hate that rn looks like m
mememememememo··on Git commands I run before reading any code
I'd only look at human/AI edited files (i.e. that require some kind of reasoning) not generated ones (where the reasoning is in the generator).

Generation is precompilation.

Entry point is interesting. Lots of scope to become a scary file.

mememememememo··on Six (and a half) intuitions for KL divergence
Found an excerpt online. Seems like a gem of a book.
mememememememo··on Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? My quest to unmask Bitcoin's creator
Yep Googlers... Metans... don't throw stones.
mememememememo··on Show HN: Can an AI model fit on a single pixel?
Works for me now, thanks!
mememememememo··on We moved Railway's frontend off Next.js. Builds went from 10+ mins to under 2
Yep but the idea goes back further. Memory is vague but this may have been it. https://www.ajaxtoolkit.net/DynamicPopulate/DynamicPopulate....
