Yes, but there are tons of "passionate" people out there, so they are looking for them. Here in my country (Brazil), we are nearing a ridiculous situation. Most startups set stupid hiring metrics managed by people ignorant about technology and most of them (if not barely all) fail badly. And then the CXO's all blame their "passionate" programmers and leave with the pockets full of money.
You can't see the agenda, but is part of it. An "agenda" don't need to be bad to most people outside the inner circle, which is exactly the case of SV and HN. They "just" want to hold the power and who benefits from the prosperity created.
I guess investors are having the same feelings people are showing here. This don't look like a healthy company, imho. Facebook mobile ads looks like scam to me, in both ends. You pay money to interact with the people you expent money and work to bring.
If it was a problem, why would it not be now? Only because it is said that the mobile basket is bigger? It may be less deep. Google still makes a lot more than FB.
Nope. And I, if I was Facebook, would not be proud of this stats. Don't put all your eggs in the same basket. Now, FB and Google has the opposite profit behavior. And I think it will be bad to both of them. Maybe they will meet in the middle, and lose their cash cow.
This was one of the most stupid post I've seem a company publish. I don't know about what he is talking but I'm going to search it with a feeling that this guy is a looser.
Edit: more stupid than I thought! They bought a full page ad.
Edit 2: I hate M$, but Slack doesn't help either.
Poverty is down absolutely, but never have it been so high relatively. Rich people never lived so well and poor people never struggled so hard to try to live 1/10 of what money provides today. People don't feel less poor when they have a 2000' car and everyone in Instagram has a brand new.
No, I mean all these apps and sites that make jokes about Trump. They are in the front page for months. Only now the joke is starting to get back to people that threw it. Here from distance, I'm laughing off Clinton supporters. The most funny thing is that a lot of these stupid guys are famous in tech, and consider themselves smart.
