mehuljd··on I built a fast, citation-backed Google alternative in 2 days using Claude Code
I was frustrated with LLMs giving long-winded answers when I just wanted something fast and clear. So I built GoSurfly over a weekend—an AI-powered search tool that returns short answers with real citations.

Built solo using: – Claude Code for generation – Cursor as the AI-native IDE – Supabase for lightweight auth & storage – Custom pipeline (MCPS) for real-time web search + extraction

The entire thing was up and running in 2 days. Works on desktop and mobile. Try it here: https://gosurfly.com

Happy to answer questions or share code structure if anyone’s curious.

mehuljd··on [dead]
Vara is an Augmented Reality AI bot for metaverse. You showcase your products using AR and then use an AI bot to answer customer queries. AI bot is built using GPT3. You can provide it basic information for your product/services and it can take it from there.
mehuljd··on Show HN: How to solve “Zoom Fatigue” with a more immersive AR meet mobile app
Hi kstenerud, The way it differentiates from video call is that it is more immersive and interactive by using AR technology. You can meet or hangout with other users as avatars (holographic in future) and interact with 3D elements that you can spawn using Augmented reality in your own physical space. For example if you want to celebrate a birthday, you can do that by joining a private room and change theme to birthday. Then you will see a 3D AR birthday cake on a table in front of you. Other users can then join that shared space as avatars and interact and communicate as you would naturally. For them they will see the cake in their own physical space. In short it’s more than a 2D video call. It is immersive and interactive call. We plan on supporting AR headsets and VR headsets in future. Check out the video here and it will make more sense https://youtu.be/9ww0tv31J0Q or you can even try out the beta app. Https://varaxr.com/invite

Thank you for your feedback. It is actually still an MVP and hence the scrappy UI. However, if you try it out, you will understand how it is different from a video call.

Hi Dang. It is actually a launched product in private beta. Once you put your email address, you will get access to the private beta link. :) Unless it didn't work for you. If so let me know and I can send you a link to the invites.

yes the goal is holographic avatars. But before we can get there, we can use front camera to track user faces and animate the 3D characters. We already have mouth tracking :). We believe this will help solve zoom fatigue as you can now read body language.
