All PDF to Word convertors I know are online services. Does that mean these people left copies of their documents on some servers? Those servers could also have timestamped logs of these people's access. If they were so careless with their own documents, if they altered more important ones, does that mean that there are now important documents stored somewhere in a random online pdf-word convertor?

I don't know about that. A month long vacation, a year long vacation? Maybe. But it wouldn't feel right. Who am I if I don't create something?

I am trying to find a new (jr) Android developer position so I spend every minute searching through job postings, writing cover letters, following up with recruiters and applying to positions. It feels like I am going to have more free time when I find a job. I am looking forward to the day when I can just code and not worry.

This got me thinking. Linux distros has usually been seen as a safe harbor for people. We now have proof that MS and Apple has been in bed with the governments for a long time, and but even before it wouldn't have been too wrong to think MS/Apple has some kind of back door.

Years ago, something called Ubuntu came up to spread linux to the masses. While it was hard to install and maintain a linux pc before, Ubuntu made it so that it was almost as simple as windows. I know this is a baseless conspiracy theory, but would it be too far fetched to think maybe Ubuntu was sponsored by the government to spread linux and lull the people into a false sense of security in their linux environment?

Then there must be something wrong with me. I used Eclipse all day every day for the last year for an android project and several websites and I am fine. Sure there were a few problems with updating, android and couple of other things but I solved the problems, adapted and marched on.

On the other hand, I am excited to try this new Android Studio IntelliJ thing, simply because of the hype and people's recommendation that IntelliJ is heaven. If it improves my productivity, then great. If not, I am fine with Eclipse and it looks like they got their wake up call to better their product.

Which precincts/neighborhoods would you say one should stay away from? Where are the safest places to rent?

I think they consider everyone that apply. I am not a MIT/Stanford grad but I was given consideration but passed over because I am not close to SF. After talking a bit with them, and stating I am willing to relocate, I was told I'd be reconsidered in the next auction. They were very patient with me too. I'd certainly give it a try even if you are not MIT/Stanford grad.

I thought about doing that, but then I couldn't find any advantages. I can move there, change my Linkedin location to San Francisco, and that would bring more recruiters. I can try going to meetups in the area and try to network. Aside from those, what do you think I could do? I have a very limited amount of time to find a job.
