mbushey··on Tesla takes on $30B in credit as it approaches unprofitability
> no one wants to drive a nazi car. That explains why VW, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW are doing so poorly. You know, those companies actually founded by Hitler. First rule of advertising is claim your week points are your strong points, and the first rule of politicizing is blame everyone else for what you are guilty of.
mbushey··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
This is why people buy Teslas. My experience on much larger road trips (Montana to TX or CA) is I would never, ever want to do one again in a petrol vehicle.
mbushey··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
Exactly, and Kodak makes the best consumer film cameras in the world.
mbushey··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
I have a gas SUV and a diesel truck. They are pathetic compared to my Tesla Model Y in every regard except towing and hauling with the truck. This is especially true on road trips. I do not mind those 15+ stops as they are for 5-15 minutes each and I guarantee I have to use the bathroom at each stop. My last road trip from Montana to Texas I could have just as well slept in the back seat the whole way if not for the driver monitoring system. Steering wheels are as dumb as gas tanks. I hate all the time wasted at gas stations, in reality it's much worse than charging. Waking up each day with a full "tank" is amazing. I couldn't imagine using one of the fossil fuel vehicles on a road trip anymore. Want to buy a Subi Forrester or a Dodge Cummins 24 valve 4 door long bed?
mbushey··on Show HN: SubSmith – Turn your own videos into language-learning material
I'm pretty confident that Grok CLI 4.6 could one shot this.
mbushey··on SQL SIDE QUEST – An Immersive story-telling SQL Game. Chapter 3 is out
The parser cannot even recognize a where clause... Great idea, but make the parser work first.
mbushey··on Tesla stock sinks 7% despite strong deliveries report, worst day in nearly 1y
Think of all the money you can make shorting the stock.
mbushey··on Nvidia's 10-year effort to make the Shield TV the most updated Android device
Neither Button Mapper nor Buttons Mapper work. You have to disassemble the remote and put a piece of paper or tape between the contacts.
mbushey··on Data centers in space makes no sense
> Has anyone even built a two-story DC?

Downtown Los Angeles: The One Wilshire building, which is the worlds most connected building. There are over twenty floors of data centers. I used Corporate Colo which was a block or two away. That building had at least 10 floors of Data Centers.

mbushey··on Robotaxi launch begins in Austin today
keep getting away with what? I've seen multiple photos and no one is in the drivers seat. They do have a person in the passenger seat. Unlike Waymo that had safety drivers for years I suspect they will remove the safety passenger after a few days.
mbushey··on Toyota Takes Aim at EVs with Ammonia Engine
The reason houses in Japan are such a depreciating asset is due to the population collapse. It's estimated there is a surplus of about 10 million houses.
mbushey··on Roundup herbicide ingredient connected to epidemic chronic kidney disease
Thank you for your post, I didn't know about Creeping Thyme. I will be planting some next spring. :)
mbushey··on Toyota Takes Aim at EVs with Ammonia Engine
This is also my conclusion, in the same way that if you get into a fender-bender there, you junk the car because it's dishonorable to drive the car after you got into a [minor] accident.
mbushey··on Maybe People Don't Want Self-Driving Cars After All
Why do you feel That Tesla FSD is "buggy shit"? No, it's not perfect, but it is mindblowingly amazing. At the current state I'm quite happy with what I paid for it. I've driven over a million miles in the last 35+ years, it's quite nice to have my car drive me now.
mbushey··on Windows NT 3.1 on Dec Alpha AXP
Sure do! I was a beta tester. Pippi (sp?) was my contact at DEC. It was cool that the more you ran an x86 exe, the faster it got.
mbushey··on The False Promises of Tesla’s Full Self Driving
Great, quote the Dawn Project. You know that's a failing autopilot competitor that's faking videos. Look it up on YouTube, there's analysis videos showing that the Dawn Project is lying.
mbushey··on The False Promises of Tesla’s Full Self Driving
It's already good enough to make me happy.
mbushey··on The False Promises of Tesla’s Full Self Driving
And just who do you believe is the leader? You've never [recently] been in a Tesla with FSD, have you? Tesla FSD is amazing.
mbushey··on The False Promises of Tesla’s Full Self Driving
Constantly monitoring FSD is no where near as much work as driving. It's also 5x safer than just a human.
mbushey··on Ford slashes prices of F-150 Lightning trucks as EV wars heat up
You're the one lying.
mbushey··on Microsoft promises to keep Call of Duty on Playstation for next decade
A promise from Microsoft? That's like a promise from the homeless guy twerking and foaming at the mouth on the street corner.
mbushey··on Volvo Cars Adopts Tesla's NACS Port in the United States, Canada and Mexico
Exactly, I don't want an ugly car. One of the numerous things I love about my Model Y is how awesome it looks. Screw the Ford, GM, Chrysler, Subi, Toyota, etc bars of soap.
mbushey··on Volvo Cars Adopts Tesla's NACS Port in the United States, Canada and Mexico
Nor is it the experience anyone with a Tesla experiences. Nothing else comes close to Tesla in build quality (My wife's Subi Forrester is a flaming POS in comparison) or driving experience. Every other car company makes vehicles to make money, and fail on target after warranty (or in the case of Ford during warranty costing Ford billions in warranty costs). Tesla seems to "break" capitalism, they make their cars to last and NOT break.
mbushey··on Germans beat Tesla to autonomous L3 driving in the Golden State
I agree, it took quite awhile for FSD to get the issues ironed out.
mbushey··on Mercedes can sell cars in California with hands-free, eyes-off automated driving
Only on the freeway at less than 45MPH with a lead car. It's a joke.
mbushey··on A Leaked Tesla Report Shows the Cybertruck Had Basic Design Flaws
I think the CyberTruck is somewhere between beautiful and sexy. Other than your bad taste in aesthetics [IMHO], I completely agree with the rest of your comment.
mbushey··on A Leaked Tesla Report Shows the Cybertruck Had Basic Design Flaws
Why's that? I'm selling my Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab 8' bed Cummins Diesel as my CyberTruck reservation should be towards the top. I view the CyberTruck as a superior replacement for the Cummins Diesel. Then again I own a Model Y and really don't want to own another dino powered vehicle. I've replaced way to many engines and transmissions in my life. I have a 1 ton gantry in my garage that hopefully will never be used on gas/diesel powertrains again.
mbushey··on Garuda Linux
I need to install Arch on my Garuda system - it's pretty jacked up. First time in 25 years I've ever had a Linux distro that just plain needs to be nuked. I will never touch Garuda again, installing it was a mistake. Arch is amazing, but Garuda is not.
mbushey··on Mercedes-Benz beats Tesla for approval of automated driving tech in California
Mercedes L3 is such a joke. Max speed 45 MPH on the freeway. Requires lead car. Probably ideal for someone with really, really good insurance against getting rear-ended and accident lawyer best friend.
mbushey··on Germans beat Tesla to autonomous L3 driving in the Golden State
lol, I can tell you don't have FSD. I don't even drive anymore, I just watch. The vast majority of the time the car does something unexpected there's a child crossing in the middle of street at night, or a car behind me moving into my lane that I didn't see at first because it was in my blind spot. FSD is already good enough that if it stopped progressing I would feel like I got my money's worth. FSD is amazing. It's almost a solved problem, I believe that it's currently 5x safer than human driver, and that seems/feels right. One year ago FSD was an insanely expensive party trick, now it works. Headlines can state stuff like this, but it's a lot like Microsoft going on about how much better they are then Linux. You should watch the videos on how bad the Mercedes L3 is, it only works on freeways UNDER 45 MPH with a lead car.
