mattbruv··on Porting my 1993 Amiga game to Godot, with an LLM reading the 68000 assembly
I really tried to start reading this because I am interested in the idea, but the obvious AI writing prose is just so off-putting that I can't force myself to continue reading it without my eyes rolling into the back of my head. I'm not against using AI to code, but if you're actually passionate about the project and want to share it with others, you should use your own words.

Yep, it was really hard to get my brain to focus on what was actually trying to be conveyed, and I'm a 2000 rated chess player

> I wish there was a name for this situation. It’s almost like a pseudo-language where it has the correct form and presentation but is missing critical components.

Bullshit?

> all of the awful side effects of caffeine

If I may ask as a coffee addict, what were some of these that affected you specifically?

mattbruv··on Anti-social: It's fads, not friends, which now dominate social media feeds
Wow, I've been using instagram for 5 years and I just learned that there's a following-only feed. I had always just assumed that Instagram was designed in bad faith to always interleave posts from people you didn't follow to try to capture your attention. It's incredibly annoying that I can't set this as my default.

mattbruv··on Cartoon Network Flash Games
I made this port, thanks for sharing it! The reason this game doesn't appear in the original list is because it was made in Shockwave, not Flash. I'm curious if there is any kind of emulator for Shockwave being worked on like what Ruffle is for Flash.

This is beautiful. Like others, I don't really play video games, but walking around and appreciating the visual style is just so comforting and compelling. Incredible work.
mattbruv··on GitHub was having issues
Man, I remember feeling like that change was somewhat recent. 10 years ago was about 2016. I'm not ready to accept this.

This is just embarrassing for them, especially whoever is in charge of pull requests.
mattbruv··on 4.5M Suspected Fake Stars in GitHub
I have the same thing happen to me often. Sometimes I get a notification on my GitHub homepage that someone followed me a day or so ago, and when I click to view their profile it seems that they have already unfollowed me. For example, This guy did it, and he has 6K+ followers and is only following ~200: https://github.com/NobleMajo. It seems weird that he would follow me to unfollow me right away. I have a feeling that these accounts do this intentionally to harvest followers by prompting Github to show a ton of different people that he is following them in order to have them follow back in exchange. I think most people will follow someone back who follows them without really thinking about it. In my case I investigated who it was who followed me and realized he isn't actually following me and is probably harvesting followers. Why would someone waste time out of their life to do this? Who knows. Probably want to feel special or stand out from other people without doing anything to earn it.

I don't understand what he's on about either. They're hardly even making any money from it. I signed the guest book and there were only like one or two visitors every couple of days (or week). The woman who gives tours of the museum can't read or write, she's probably in her 80s. Only elderly people live in the town nowadays, all of the youth left. It can't be more than 30-50 people living there. I don't even remember paying anything to enter, and if I did, it couldn't have been more than a couple of dollars.

Also, if you're interested in History and enjoy "off the beaten path" type of tourism, it's 100% worth the ~8 hour ride from Santa Cruz to visit La Higuera, the little pueblo where the Bolivian Government captured and executed Che Guevara. The schoolhouse that they executed him in is now converted into a tiny little museum, and the whole town has art and statues of him, it's a super interesting place.
