It really is incredible that a one man shop can do a better job with backup software than Apple's Time Machine. Good job, Stefan, and boo hiss to Apple engineering.

The blog post doesn't actually say that 5.8.5 repairs old backup records. Does it?

Amazing that he wasn't even considered that notable a composer until many decades after he died.

The more the government subsidizes higher education, the more expensive it becomes.

The CarPlay interface for Apple Music is awful as well.

I think of all the software I use, CarPlay + Apple Music + Siri has the highest "scream factor" (i.e. causing me to scream out loud with frustration.)

It's actively designed to thwart the discovery and easy access to music, or so it seems.

She is such a ghastly warmonger.

Illinois badly needs to do this as well.

It's unfortunate that IE 11 is still in such widespread use compared to Edge. Looks like IE 11 will be the boat anchor for web tech for a couple years at least.

It is equally logical to say that your name appeared in my computer just now by virtue of your comment; therefore, I can now impersonate you forever.

Excellent news, thanks!

systemd is the best. May it never die.

Compared to merging states, splitting them is quite practical.

Merging states is impractical compared to splitting them, because state law is so different in each state. The split states can inherit their existing laws, but there is no simple way to reconcile laws in a merged state.

It is rather absurd how large California is compared to many other states. There should be a general process to split large states rather than doing this as a one-off though. For example, after the 10-year census, the largest state gets divided in half.

Because sometimes a web app needs to control webserver config?

What about citext? It's not on there.

Awesome! This is something I was really hoping for.

We are doomed.

This is an excellent idea which is unfortunately too simple, fair, and straightforward to have a chance in California.

It really is absurd, isn't it? Multi user iPads would be incredibly useful in the home as well.

It's sad, but Apple has completely lost it at the low end. The value proposition just isn't there any more. This goes for iOS as well as Macs.

It is simply another instance of outrageous government regulation.

Competition is great for consumers!

Is that because, even though a very small number of pages (they claim) triggered the bug, any adjacent traffic in memory could be disclosed?

That traffic could be basically anything sent through Cloudflare, it would seem.

Siri via CarPlay, because it makes me scream with frustration with 75% likelihood upon use.
