massimosgrelli··on Italia Startup Visa
Well, this actually isn't so bad. The good thing about Italy is that if you live here life is pretty cheap - compared to Silicon Valley. So, you could consider Italy like "a garage" where to start your venture or even a place where you can localize your programmers while running your business somewhere else. Of course it doesn't apply to people not living here, ... so why on Earth a startup visa program? Open the gates to founders is not enough is you don't create a income tax + regulation free + labour tax + notary free zone in the country to attract talented people here. Until today we don't have it and this thread is just a proof of Italian high tech entrepreneurs discouragement.
massimosgrelli··on How Paul Graham Is Wrong
Do you recommend this book to understand remote working dynamics at Wordpress ? Learning from companies that succeeded in setting up the remote working practice is definitely the best way to understand if you can put the process in a bottle. Anyway thanks for sharing this title.

How does remote working get done at Stripe? what tools? What practices are a consolidated standard? It would be really useful to the discussion if you could share something with us.
massimosgrelli··on Tools that allow remote teams to work efficiently
I would add Workflowy to the list
massimosgrelli··on Meteor-JS versus AngularJS
No experience with Angularjs. Meteorjs is great, I just started a couple of mounths ago and I love how easy is to make complex real-time things. They should work on better documentation, there is only 1 valuable book right now to buy. Others are coming. The main problem is that meteorjs community is small compared to angularjs, and that is pretty strange to me. It's a well founded company - $11M - with a slow ramp of adoption. Why?

really cool, well done
massimosgrelli··on This is experimental. However, it could start a revolution in information access
I was 23 and I was starting my final year at Computer Science in Milan Italy. The last chapter of my paper work - finalized almost a year later - would report of a new software tool to browse information on the Internet called Mosaic. Since then I was using Gopher, WAIS and Veronica (was that the name?).
massimosgrelli··on Ask HN: How much do founders pay themselves?
I think this approach can lead to kill start-up potential at the beginning. A founder is an entrepreneur and if a company has no money - because of it has insufficient revenues - than the founders must deal with the fact to not touch their company bank reserve except for eating :) So for #1 I would say: no income except for eating and sleeping. For my company - as a founder - I would do that way. Massimo Sgrelli
