The company is part of the development. Afaik many apps are open source. "Donating it" means offloading the support and profit from Linux Foundations status.
Nearform is involved in integrating the backend into the countries health system... so they offload the app and just do the work that gets paid well. ?
I do understand that some apps provide extra features etc. but premium removes ads cross-platform... and since GoogleMusic is included, it replaces Spotify as well(yes, it's different..).
Ok. But. The discussion is about specific expressions almost everybody knows, not just random words. One of those words is `slave`.
> It looks to me more sensible and a better long term solution to help this person to deal with his/her emotions instead of trying to change everybody around them.
I think this only applies to situations in which one specific person has specific triggers who are e.g. tight to an psychological trauma...
I was about to write that too. I'm not quite sure if I find the change necessary - but who am I to raise my word against it. I'm a white guy, it is obvious why master/slave has negative connotations and that's enough for me to let them decide.
I just listened to a podcast about "whiteness studies" maybe that enforced my opinion on this - but why would I - a white guy - would want to criticize this discussion. Be open, be welcome, accept diversity is a main rule in many projects. Why would I not want to change something that others consider harmful(especially something as simple as wording)
Todoist is also the only one I know that offers an API
My Todoist bot adds features that no one will ever build into todo apps, but improve my life tremendously.
I'll never use a todo app without API again.
If I would be able to use the iOS/Mac native app, I wouldn't even need the web version....
I understand that focusing on Apple(OS features) is what makes these apps so great. But it's sad to not beeing able to use these apps, even when they finally offer a web version.
To add a alternative: Docsify
It's not optimized for notes(tags are missing), but it does offer a large amount of community addons: https://docsify.js.org/#/awesome
It has a built in search, I dont know how good it is tough.
I edit it in my IDE. It's always in my "recent project tab" and I have the IDE open anytime I use or want to edit the notes anyway.
It doesn't need a special note-app, which makes it even easier to use it anywhere. docsify has a "edit on github"-addon, which would make it easy to even edit it in the browser.
Probably a bit overkill for a simple blog, but it should be evaluated whenever someone is looking for a end-user friendly doc generator.
It's not that elaborate, but I found it the best solution for cross platform and cross-location.
I can access it everywhere and edit it from everywhere, where I have a IDE available.
I like a 1 for all solution more then specific tools, like the specialized cheatsheet CLI tools - it gets messy after a while...
While sad, I think it's important to acknowledge and don't be do harsh to people who fail in the first attempt... ... also because my biggest learnings also came from really embarrassing moments or failure too..
Edit: There are many better options to try out... but I just want to have this in this list - because a yearlong routine also could have helped you to "cover up" your ADHD.
It's a common recommendation for exactly that - but I'm amazed by how much it's in the back of my head and gives me support. Especially in the current time.
I can't point to an exact quote.. but I'm listening to all audio books(as background noise) by Douglass Adam's for the last weeks and it just feels like there is a part in the books for almost every weird situation in life....
And it's not like it gives a solution for every weird situation... it's more like it supports to feel however you feel about it...
In case of AWS/cloud it's not just gaming but also always thinking about aws/technical stuff..
If you can afford to buy all games on steam and have 1gig internet - go ahead and use a cloudgaming service. But you'll see the video compression and you won't be able to play the great game you once bought at humblebundle.
Tried it for gaming and it was a great experience. Gaming only works if you are near their data centers though - afaik US and NL; got a high latency in Germany, but that's not the their fault. You'll find 10$ referral codes online to try it for free.

A bit hacky. But in case someone is interested: https://github.com/6uhrmittag/bashblog
Topics like setting up deployment, servers, more complex server setups...
Or did someone tried to do streams on this topics?
I imagine this would be much cooler than defined tutorial videos..
I've build admindojo because I'm pretty new to Linux myself and couldn't find anything like this. After finding overthewire.org, I found the CTF style pretty motivating and started building admindojo...
It's in a very early stage, but working and any feedback is highly appreciated - it would be nice to know if this is something others would like too.
Thank you for reading!
- pictures of the office opening party
- clients addresses
- employee contracts + data
- written warnings to employees
- ALL communication to/from clients
- INCLUDING stuff like stalking Protective Orders
Additionally, one CEO saved data from his other company on the server. His company dealt with medical stuff. The company was eventually sold for an undisclosed amount of money - but the server also contains correspondence to investors and board of directors....
The data is almost 10 years old, but some employees are still in business. Please always teach basic security when talking to anyone who handles 3rd party data. Lawyers must be aware of the value of their data. No victim of stalking wants to have their case correspondence public.
Instead of learning more about server hardware, I'll probably use this data to learn more about data/document analysis and use it as a simple example when talking about the boring topic of computer/data security.
